The Merchants are known as a leading crime family in Shadowbrooke,New England USA.... Everyone fears them, Everyone knows of them... but nobody truly knows them. Police reports come out almost every week, new reports on top of that "Merchants strike again" usually being the headline... all crime families are associated with the Merchants... even some double agents in the police force.
Nik: Niklaus Merchant. 2nd oldest son of 6 children in the Merchant family... tall, built, devilishly handsome in a terrifying way, with pitch black hair matching his extremely dark brown, almost black iris, iris being singular, his right iris, the left being a steely grey due to some genetic abnormality that stripped away the pigment in his eye, along with his eyebrow, and secretly a streak through his hair which is a bright white, but he dyes that to match the rest of his hair, a scar running through his eyebrow and he is the epitome of the "bad boy" aesthetic, tattoos and piercings cover his pale skin, the staple of his family's marking tattooed down the column of his neck -- a snake wrapped around a dagger penetrating a human skull -- he's recently been more involved with his father's "business", having just turned 19, the same age his brother, Achilles, dropped out of school and became a full time member of this crime family. Expecting the same thing, Nik had been lacking in his efforts at school only to find that his father, Silas, wants him to stay in school (even though he's already been held back a year and still isn't doing well, not that he cares), to "keep an eye" on someone... none other than the Sheriff's son, Luka fucking Samuels, suppose it's a good thing they have to do partner work... no doubt that partnership was forced upon them by Silas.

Luka: the absolute polar opposite to Nik. Skinny, blonde, not particularly short, tan skin, green eyes, freckles littering his entire body, he has one singular earring, in his right ear, and he stands for nothing but the law. Just like his mother, Natalia, the sheriff. He's never spoken to Nik, but he hates him, hates his entire family, loathes them... after all, they killed the previous sheriff, his father, Andrew, and left his body on his front doorstep, a burn of the Merchant family Symbol singed into his neck, he had been tortured, murdered and dumped, Luka found the body while he was coming home from a friend's house... since that day 3 years ago, it has been Luka's sole purpose in life... to lock away the family for good, he's been helping his mother get as much information as possible, and now he has a the golden opportunity to get solid information right from the source, his partner in a school project, Niklaus Merchant... as long as he plays nice, he'll get what he needs... but he cannot under any circumstances let himself get distracted...
