Finney's breath was shallow; he felt like he was going to puke. What is he doing with his life? He's literally about to run away with his best friend, Robin Arellano, who also happens to be his crush since the 3rd grade. Finney had never felt so bad for himself; he was sitting on the floor of his bedroom since the age of 3, packing a bag of clothes, trying not to regret this situation. Sometimes Finney really wondered why he was so dumb or why he acted like he was so nonchalant and cool when in reality he'd crumble at the sight of a small inconvenience.

Finney could remember the exact moment when Robin asked him to run away together, and Finney believes it went down like this:

Robin walked right up to Finney, who was watching some kid try to beat Vance Hopper's pinball score. The town had never been the same since Vance disappeared with a group of people, mainly some young people his age. "I want to leave this town, and you're coming with me!" Robin exclaimed loudly, slapping Finney out of his thoughts almost immediately and giving him whiplash. Robin, with a proud look on his face as if he thought that it was a good idea to say this in broad daylight, stood in front of Finney, and Finney just stared at Robin, completely dumbfounded by what he just heard.

And that's exactly how it went down in Finney's eyes. It probably went down in a completely opposite way, but let Finney be delusional for once (it's been more than once) in his entire life.

Finney stuffed the back he held with clothes, like random star shirts, some band shirts, and baggy pants. Finney's style was... questionable to some people, but that was the least of his concerns, for now he needed to actually think about whether he wanted to run away and do the stupidest, dumbest thing ever. Finney was even questioning if he still loved his life. I mean, did he? Probably not. Did he love Robin? Yes, so was he going to do this really dumb thing for Robin? The answer is yes.

Finney grumbled to himself as he thought about how stupid he was. This wasn't the life he dreamed to have; he wanted to drive into a pool of education and go to Harvard when he got older; he wanted to have four kids (maybe six); and lastly, he wanted to move to a nice part of town and make sure his little sister Gwen would be okay.

Finney used to have a small dream of becoming a baseball player, but that was until Bruce Yamada left this snooty town. Well, disappeared is the right word. Bruce kind of just disappeared, and he disappeared around the exact time that Vance disappeared. It broke Finney's heart into small pieces. Bruce was Finney's support when it came to baseball, and now it is gone. "Damn it, Bruce, couldn't you have waited a couple years to disappear on me?" Finney grumbled in his head as he stuffed his bag full of clothes, socks, and underwear because he'd be damned if he left this house with no clothes.

As Finney finished the remainder of his packing, he heard three loud honks outside his window. Robin's here.
