(Kevin's pov)

I'm sat in the mission but when McKinley enters gracefully followed by two of the generals men, the two that took me and Arnold's bags and they are carrying an awfully familiar suitcase the stand in front of me and put down the suitcase and McKinley coughs. "We are sorry for brutally taking you and your friends stuff"they say in unison "we really hope you can forgive us" I pick up the suitcase and put down my coffee "your partially forgiven"the nod and leave and I open up my bag to look at the stuff to make sure I've got everything. "Do you know where Arnold is I need to get him his bag" says McKinley but I'm not paying much attention I can't find a very important hoodie. McKinley seems to notice and puts a hand on my shoulder "are you missing something" I look for a few more seconds until I'm certain it's not here. "Yea a teal hoodie it's very important I know that sounds dumb but-" I can't finish before he's already halfway out the door I start folding my stuff and close my suitcase, I'm slightly shocked that he can manage to scare the generals men at all he's one of the kindest and least intimidating people I know.

After 30 minutes McKinley comes back in with my Orlando hoodie "is this it?" He asks holding it up, I practically run over to take it "thank you so much" without thinking I hug him then go and sit back down still holding the hoodie close to me. "They tried to argue that you don't need a hoodie in this weather but it's important to you so I got them to give it over" he explains as I fold it up and put it on top of my bag "I know it's dumb to be this obsessed with a hoodie" I say slightly embarrassed of how I'm acting. He laughs slightly "it's fine I would do the same if someone took my tap shoes" I join him laughing as I pick up my coffee.
"How did you convince literal warlords to give this over"
"I'm the district leader for a reason Kevin" I'm slightly shocked that he knows my first name I mean I shouldn't be I've been here for a month but the thing is I don't actually know his.

*~The next day~*

"You really shouldn't be drinking that" says McKinley as I refill my coffee "we aren't in the church anymore" I protest as I don't want to give up my coffee "that's not important this is your third cup" fair point smart guy.
"Hey thanks for getting my bag back yesterday and Arnold says thanks as well" he smiles when I say this "no problem" his smile is contagious I can't help but smiling aswell "oh and one more thing" he turns to me taking a sip from his mug I think he is drinking tea "what your name?" He looks shocked that I didn't know "Connor" he says pouring more tea into his mug (hypocrite) "cool" I don't know how to continue the conversation I think this is the longest conversation I've ever had so I'm not sure where to go from here so we stand in silence for a bit. "So did the same thing happen when you arrived" he tilts his head at the question very confused "like did your bags get taken" when I say that he looks like a wave of clarity washed over him "me and poptarts didn't but quite a few people after us did"
"That's good" I say and we both nod. For barely being able to continue a conversation I think this is going well I can't wait to have longer (hopefully more natural) conversations with him.
