To Rin, it was obvious: Y/N was the reason Sae had abandoned him. In Rin's eyes, Y/N was the person who had stolen his brother away. He hated her for it. It wasn't just jealousy-it was the deep, festering wound of abandonment. Rin had grown up idolizing Sae, wanting to follow in his footsteps, but then, in what felt like the blink of an eye, Sae had turned his back on him. And now, Y/N was here, back in the picture, as if to remind him of everything he'd lost.
Rin couldn't stand the thought of her.
Every time he thought about Y/N, it made his blood boil. Sae had pushed him aside, and Y/N was part of that betrayal, even if she didn't realize it. Every mention of her name, every whisper about her past with Sae, was like pouring salt on the wound. In Rin's mind, she was the reason his brother had left Japan, the reason Sae had grown distant and cold. Rin didn't know the truth-that Sae had pushed Y/N away too. He didn't realize that, just like him, Y/N had been discarded by Sae, a victim of his brother's ruthless focus on his soccer career. Instead, Rin painted Y/N as the villain. He imagined her as someone who had lured Sae away, someone who had kept him distracted while Rin was left alone to fend for himself. And now, after all these years, she was back-this time in his life, part of the same Blue Lock project that was supposed to forge the next generation of soccer stars.Rin couldn't let go of his anger. He didn't know how to.
Y/N's Perspective:
For Y/N, those years in Spain were some of the most challenging of her life. She had poured everything into soccer, only to be crushed by the very person she thought understood her the most. Sae had been more than a teammate-he'd been a mentor, maybe even a friend. She never let herself believe it was anything more than that, though. It couldn't be, not with someone like Sae. He was too focused on his goals, too driven by his ambition to notice things like feelings. And then, one day, it all changed. Sae had told her that she wasn't cut out for this. That she'd never make it at his level. His words had been harsh, unforgiving. They cut deep, and no matter how hard Y/N tried to shake them off, they lingered like a shadow over her every move. She had tried to understand where he was coming from, but in the end, it felt like a betrayal. She didn't know what she had done wrong. For years, Y/N had replayed those moments in her head, wondering if she had been too weak, too distracted, too anything. But it didn't matter. Sae had pushed her away, and that was the end of it. He had gone on to become the soccer star he always wanted to be, while Y/N was left to pick up the pieces of her shattered confidence. She eventually moved on, continuing her studies in Germany, far away from the soccer world she once loved. She had no idea that Rin harbored so much resentment toward her. She didn't know that he believed she was the reason for his brother's distance. In Y/N's mind, Sae's actions were her burden to bear alone. Little did she know, there were other scars left in the wake of their broken connection-scars that had shaped Rin's hatred for her, even though she had no part in it.
Y/N's POV:
I woke up with a start, heart pounding from the vivid flashbacks of my past. It was like reliving every single moment in high-definition. Sae, Germany, Spain... everything I thought I'd buried was suddenly resurfacing. I sat up, rubbing my face and staring at the ceiling.
*DING*
I nearly jumped out of my skin at the sound of my phone's notification.
