Start from the beginning

"What's best for me?" Y/N repeated, her voice bitter. "Or what's best for you?"Her father's face hardened, and Y/N knew the conversation was going nowhere. She had tried to explain herself so many times, but it always ended in the same argument. Her parents wanted her to follow the path they had laid out for her, to be successful in the way they defined it. But that wasn't what she wanted. Not anymore. After a tense silence, her mother spoke again, her voice softer. "Y/N, we love you, but you need to think about your future."

"I have," Y/N said quietly. "And this is what I want. I just wish you could accept that."Her father shook his head, clearly disappointed. "We'll talk about this again when you're ready to be serious." With that, my father left the room and my mom followed him back, leaving Y/N sitting in the quiet room, her emotions swirling inside her. She felt angry, frustrated, and drained. No matter how hard she tried to explain, they would never understand her desire for something different, something less conventional. She closed her eyes, leaning back against the couch, she toods up and goes back to her room. All she wanted was peace-to live life on her own terms, not to follow some predetermined path. But that seemed impossible with the weight of her parents' expectations hanging over her.

Five Years Ago The roar of the stadium echoed in Y/N's ears as she stepped onto the soccer field. She was young, full of fire and determination, and soccer was her entire world. Playing for India's national team had been a dream come true, but it was only the beginning. Soon, she found herself on a flight to Germany, where Ego had arranged for her to play with one of the best-Kaiser. Training with Kaiser had been intense, to say the least. He was arrogant and relentless, but undeniably talented. Under his guidance, Y/N sharpened her skills, becoming one of the fiercest players on the field. Her rise in Germany was meteoric, and it wasn't long before she caught the eye of another legend-Itoshi Sae. Spain was different. The culture, the pace of life, and the level of soccer-it all felt like a new world. Sae was distant at first, focused solely on his career, but over time, they grew close. They spent long hours on the field, pushing each other to be better, and late nights discussing their dreams of greatness. Sae was ambitious, his desire to become the best soccer player in the world driving him forward with a relentless focus. And as Y/N's talent continued to grow, so did Sae's feelings for her. But Sae was determined not to let anything, not even his feelings, get in the way of his goal. One night, after an intense practice, he pulled Y/N aside. "I can't do this," Sae said, his voice cold. "I can't let anything distract me from becoming the best." Y/N had stared at him, her heart sinking. She had known this moment was coming, but it still hurt."So that's it?" she asked, her voice shaking. "You're just going to push me away?"Sae had looked at her, his expression unreadable. "I have to." And just like that, Sae had cut her out of his life, discouraging her from continuing soccer. He had chosen his career, and Y/N was left to pick up the pieces of her shattered dreams.

Y/N stirred in her sleep, memories of her past haunting her dreams. The pressure to be great, the heartbreak of losing Sae, the weight of her parents' expectations-it all crashed over her like a wave. And yet, here she was, still standing, still fighting for the life she wanted.

Sae's Perspective: Spain & Y/N

When Itoshi Sae first left Japan for Spain, his mind was razor-focused. He wasn't there to make friends, form connections, or enjoy the beauty of the Spanish cities. No-he was there to become the best soccer player in the world, and nothing else mattered. Rin, his younger brother, was left behind in Japan, but Sae wasn't sentimental about it. He thought leaving Rin behind would light a fire under him, push him to grow stronger on his own. He wanted his brother to understand that the path to greatness wasn't paved with handholding or looking back.

But things didn't go as planned

it started when Sae met Y/N.
