Splitting up

It was a cold night, the stars were out and the moon shone brightly. The breeze was light but still sent a shiver down my spine. I had begun looking out the window as my friends started conversing about whether we should stay here. We were in an abandoned mental hospital. The guys thought it would be cool to check the place out, just for fun. The girls on the other hand didn't feel like being scared by the guys yet here we were in the building with flashlights and walkie-talkies.

The building looked as if it would fall apart any second, there was dust and dirt everywhere. After going back and forth for what felt like 30 minutes we decided to split up into two groups,

Group 1- Veronica (Me), Tyler, Ashlyn 

Group 2- Jacob, Isabella, Manny

Ashlyn and Tyler are dating but are off and on, and Jacob likes Isabella. Manny has a crush on a cute brunette that goes to our school and Me.....well let's just say that's the last thing on my mind. 

Soon after we made our groups we went our separate ways. Tyler and Ashlyn started up a conversation instantly while I stayed quiet and looked around. About 5 minutes into the walk in my dissociated state I noticed their voices faded away and when I turned around they were gone.

"Ash, where are you?" "Ty, you there?"

I got no response, I started walking back to the entrance but stopped once I heard my name over the walkie-talkie.

" V, where are you?" I grabbed the walkie-talkie and quickly responded.

"I'm in the northeast hallway, where are you and Tyler?"

I didn't get a response. The only thing I could hear was static, I asked again before I tried to make contact with our other group of friends. But no one answered.

But then again I figured that would happen. We're in an abandoned mental institute, that could break down any minute. And somehow even in the movies the walkie-talkies never last long. And although I was scared, mama didn't raise no......you know. I decided that sooner or later someone would try to contact me or find me so I might as well continue.

I continued back down the hallway away from the entrance for about 5 minutes before turning left and going into a room. Once I was sure I was alone I walked towards a bookcase in the room and pulled on a purple book that then opened up a secret passageway. I walked in and the bookcase shut behind me, I walked towards a monitor in the room and turned it on. I could see Jacob and Manny together on the cameras but Isabell was gone. Tyler and Ashlyn had lost each other and Isabell was all alone in the southwest hall.

It would be a lot of work to explain all of this and how we all got separated so I won't go into that much detail.

Ash and Ty never lost me, Ty just decided they needed some alone time, Ty pulled Ash into a room but Ashlyn didn't think it was a good idea to do anything in this disgusting building. He tried convincing her but it was a no-go, Ash ran off and tried to contact me but the walkie talkie stopped working. Isabella Lost the guys because they ran off trying to scare her and ended up losing her somewhere along the way. 

Back to the main point

I took out my walkie talkie and turned to channel 1 so Ash and Ty could hear me. "Hey Ash, Ty, I think there's someone else here too."

Ash responded first, "What do you mean, where are you?" Then Tyler, "Where are you and what are you talking about?''

I made my voice sound shaky and full of fear, " I found a room, there are cameras everywhere, and......Oh my god.".........

"V, hello, V answer me."

Quickly I answered back, " I hear his footsteps, He's coming back!!!" before throwing my walkie-talkie on the ground, breaking it,  and running out of the room.

I slowly made my way towards the hall Isabella was at. Once I got close I started to run and put on the act of a lifetime.

" Omg Bella, help someone's chasing me!!''

" What are you talking about?"

I grabbed her arm and ran down to the end of the hall before pulling her into a room.

I leaned against the wall to catch my breath and looked at her fearfully, "I got separated from Ash and Ty, and I ended up finding this room with cameras and weapons and other things. I was able to finally get in contact with Ash and Ty but before I could tell them where I was I heard footsteps coming, the man that was there was coming back to the room so I ran out and came down here where I saw you on the camera."

" VERONICA, YOU BROUGHT HIM MY WAY, WTF!!!"

My face still had the fearful expression but in the moment my expression slipped just a little and she caught it.

"V?" She took a step towards the door.

"Bell.' I moved in front of the door blocking her only way out, well there was a window but she wouldn't jump.

"Get out of my way"

I let my expression fall completely, but let a smirk creep its way onto my face. And I could tell she was horrified. Just as she opened her mouth to speak, someone knocked on the door. She looked at me and I looked at her, my smirk then became a creepy smile as I moved out of the way and opened the door. She watched in horror as a 6'2 buff man walked into the door with a creepy clown mask on, he turned to me for a look of approval.
