One new email.
I glanced down at my phone to see that I had received an email from perfectmatch.com.I quickly exited and closed the screen on my iphone before anyone saw what I was looking at.
'Whos loving you hey?' my friend Ollie asked.
'Oh noone. It was just spam mail' I replied nervously.
I, Ashton Sarkis, have resorted to internet dating. Yes I am that desperate.
Yeah I know its the 21st Century and now a normal way to meet people but realistically noone is raising there hand and admitting to being on a site. Its too damn embarassing.
Dont get me wrong, Im not a social regect. Ive never not had friends, never been called a loser or a geek. At school I was friends with everyone. The fact of the matter is that I just cannot meet a normal guy! My dating history sucks. After my last relationship flop with Dylan the foot fetish I saw an add on tv and thought hey! i shop for everything else online, why not shop for a man too!
I was pulled out of my thought by Ollie shaking my arm.
'Oi you! Snap out of it woman. Get your short ass up and lets go. Im starving!'.
'Yeah yeah you tall freak. Im coming'. I quickly chucked everything into my country road bag and followed him out the door.
Ollie and I had met last year first day of college. We had instantly clicked and have been inseperable since. We couldnt be more opposite though and our friends and families find it quite amusing.
Ollie is 6"2 with blonde hair, blue eyes, tanned and buffed. While I was just pushing 4"10 with longish light brown hair, green eyes and although not obese I definately wasnt on the slim side. Basically he was the model and I was the cute best friend.
'Mmmm im STARVING! I say we hit up chows!' I say with my mouth already watering. Chows was a 5 minute walk from campus and let me just say the food is to die for! Lemon chicken and garlic prawns cooked to perfection .. yum.
15 minutes later we were happily munching into our food.
'So ash, you never told me what happened with Nick?' Ollie asked.
I slowly swallowed my food and answered 'Eh nothing happened.Ever. That was the problem. We werent even official cause he didnt want anything serious and yet I was expected to act like we were a couple. Like WTF man! talk about confusion. I felt like a permanent fuck buddy. So I gave him the flick. Simple.'
'Aw Ash Im sorry. You will find someone who makes you as happy as Alexi makes me. Dont even worry about Nick the dick. Told you I never liked him'.
'How is Alexi these days? I miss her so much!' I asked.
'Yeahs hes really good. Been heaps busy with Uni and work. Its our 3 years on Friday so Ive booked a hotel for the weekend' Ollie said slightly blushing.
'Naw Ollie wollie thats so cute! She will love it!' I said while smiling.
Alexi and Ollie were in the running for the cutest most compatible couple in history.
'Yeah yeah laugh it up'. He then launched into all his other plans forthe weekend but I was distracted by my phone signalling that another email had come through.
I glanced up to make sure he couldnt see my phone and logged onto perfectmatch.

I deleted the first two messages and quickly typed out a reply to mr shy boy. We have been emailing back and forth for the past month now. Great guy and I really enjoy emailing him. Its never gone any further than that though.
Ollie snapped me back to reality by asking what I was doing that weekend.
'Nothing yet Friday and saturday I am meeting up with a friend from school for dinner'.
Lie! I was actually going on a date with Jason on Saturday. We have been talking for 2 weeks and had exchanged numbers last night. We are going to a resteraunt in a very public area just to be on the safe side. Internet dating can be very dangerous.
