Him

My first day as a senior at Kennedy High was as normal as any day at Kennedy High. I scurry home, hoping to be there before my grandmother is there. I want to make sure all of the flowers are in place for when she gets here. See, my grandmother was in the hospital for about 3 weeks. After praying and hoping, she was finally stable enough to come home. She's the only one that accepted me for my dumb mistake. My parents moved all the way to Paris to escape the shame they felt every time they looked at me. Last thing I heard about my parents was that they were raising my 4 year old brother. Once I enter the doors and check to make sure everything is in place, I lay on my bed.

I'm bored..," I thought to myself. Maybe I should text Autumn.

Kyle2Cool: Hey Autumn.

AuttyB: Um who is this and how did you get my Kik?

Kyle2Cool: It's Kyle. Kyle Wolf. Remember? You gave me your number and it automatically added you as a Kik contact.

AuttyB: Oh hi Kyle! Give me one second. I'll brb.

Kyle2Cool: Ok. I'll be waiting!

Her

I turn my phone off and hide it under my big stuffed bear, Toto. My mother and father barge into my room, touching all of my stuff in the act.

" Ok. First of all, it's not nice to barge into a teenager's room like that. Second of all, stop touching my stuff. Third of all, what the heck are you doing," I firmly tell them, knowing that they'd listen to whatever I'd say. Ever since the incident, my parents have always been on my bumper. It's only because I almost committed suicide. Luckily, my older brother was able to come and rescue me before I could. Ever since that attempt, my parents always tried to check my room for any blades, scissors, or anything that could be used to harm myself. After 10th grade, they calmed down on the checking, since I had started to receive treatment from a therapist. This was the first time in a while since they've checked my room.

"Don't tell me what to do missy, "my mother sternly said, hoping to get a reaction out of me.

"Good job sweetheart. We have to tell Mr. Dunley on your work today!" my father said, praising my mom for her great skills. Did I forget to mention that my mom and dad take parenting classes to become stronger and more loving parents?

"Thank you sweetie! Anyway. Autumn, we are allowed to search your room whenever we want to. We are the adults here."

"Your mother is totally correct Autumn. We are the parents. We run this house, not you!"

"Ok mom. Ok dad. You guys are totally right. I'm soo sorry," I sarcastically say. Usually, this makes them leave. But this time, they stayed even longer.

"Do you have a phone?"

"No dad. You know I'm not allowed to have one."

"mhmm. Ok then. Well, dinner is almost done so come on down."

"Ugg ok," I grunt. They always interfere with my plans. Stupid parents.
