(MINJI)
It was the start of senior year. The first time i ever actually laid my eyes on her. Pham Hanni. She was seated next to me. Everyone knew her, she was the most popular in school. "Hi, Minji right?" she spoke, smiling at me. I nodded, a tint of pink forming on my cheeks as i realized how pretty her smile was. I always got nervous around pretty girls.
she pursed her lips while nodding her head, slowly looking away. I felt myself still blushing as i took out my pencil case. I wonder if she has a boyfriend, i thought as i noticed her cute eye smile. "Is there something on my face?" she asked. I quickly shook my head feeling my face heat up with embarrassment. "Why aren't you speaking to me? am i annoying?." she asked jokingly. "what? no of course not." i answered, avoiding eye-contact with her.
"Your pretty you know that?" she complimented, smiling at me while my face reddened. "Thanks.." i said. 'you too' I thought of saying but just brushed it off. I was always known as the quiet kid in class even though well, I wasn't a nerd or anything. I barely even liked math or science. I did have my friends though, Danielle Marsh , Kang Haerin , and Lee Hyein. They were quite the opposite from me though. Danielle was a really extroverted person which most people would get along with as she was friendly with everyone and well she wasn't the type of person who was known for being mean. If anything, she was the most nicest person anyone could meet which is exactly why i became friends with her.
Haerin was really introverted and shy when I first met her but over time, we both got close as we had a lot of things in common, for example being an introvert. She oddly reminds me of a cat too which is kind of valid cause she does look a lot like a cat. Hyein was the it girl of school which, I still can't believe that i'm friends with her. But still, it was kind of strange how she was the youngest of our group and still managed to be called the it girl of school but i mean, she's Lee Hyein and even though she's really popular she was always nice to everyone which is why i found her unique. She likes really vintage things for her age too. Me, Danielle and Haerin are all 18 while Hyein's 17.
"Alright class! Make your way to your next lesson." Ms. Minatozaki said. Have I really been daydreaming for that long? "Bye!!" Hanni said, waving at me as she left the class. I smiled as i waved back to her. She's so cute. Wait what?? It's normal to call friends cute right? "There you were!! What lesson are you going for now?" Danielle spoke, linking her arm with mine. "Uhh geometry i think." i responded. "Dang it we don't have the same lesson right now.. I think Haerin has geometry right now too though." she said. "Oh alright how about Hyein though?" I asked.
"She's having math with me right now-" "Hi guys!!" Hyein said, cutting Danielle off as she put her arms around our shoulders. "Guys i think we got to part ways now there's literally only 2 minutes before lesson starts.." Danielle said. "Awww.." Hyein pouted. "Well bye!" She continued. Danielle gave me a small wave as Hyein dragged her away. Well.. now i have to find my own way to class. God this was going to be embarrassing.
"O..kay and Kim Minji?" I heard the teacher say as i panted, reaching the geometry class. "Here!" i said as i entered the class. I panted heavily as i stood at the door. "Alright, take a seat somewhere I don't really care where you guys sit nowadays." I raised an eyebrow before looking at her lanyard which read, 'Ms. Manoban'. "Wow, uh okay.." I replied before making my way to the back which was where Haerin was seated, as always. "Why do you always sit at the back? like how can you even see from here??" I asked, eyeing her as she just shrugged.
I looked at the people in the class, only recognizing a few classmates. Until my eyes landed on one particular girl, Hanni Pham. She's in the same class?? I watched as she smiled while talking to her friend group which consisted of Shin Ryujin, Yu Jimin and Oh Haewon. "Do you know Pham Hanni?.." I asked Haerin. "Duh everyone knows who she is. She's literally like the most popular in the whole school, her whole friend group is." she responded as she took down notes while Ms. Manoban taught. "Uhh.. Does she have a boyfriend by any chance?" I asked, trying to act nonchalant. She put her pen down before slowly turning her head towards me. "Do you like her?" she asked with a teasing smile. "What?! No of course not." I replied.
"You sure?.." she asked, nudging my arm with her elbow. "Obviously! and besides i don't even think she swings that way." I said. "Why? were you hoping for her to swing that way? to swing your way? " She teased, watching me blush furiously. "What?? No!" I quickly said, not wanting her to get the wrong idea. "You do know it's fine to like her right? She's literally Hanni Pham." she responded. "I don't like her Haerin." I said sternly. "Yeah yeah whatever." She replied, rolling her eyes. "Anyways I was just asking cause she sits next to me for first period." I continued. "Wow you are one lucky girl, sitting next to Hanni is a dream for everyone. Except me of course." she said. "Yeah cause you only have eyes for Danielle don't you?" I joked but got her glaring at me as a response.
"Fine chill.." I said. "Anyways you asked if Hanni has a boyfriend right?" she replied, changing the subject. "Yeah.." I replied, hoping for her not to tease me again. "She doesn't. She just broke up with her most recent boyfriend like a month ago." She answered casually. "Oh. Wait how do you know?.." I asked, eyeing her suspiciously. "Unlike you I still check on the school's recent drama and well the latest one was Hanni's break-up with Sim Jaeyun, which is Jake and i dont even know if you know who he is but." She said. "Ohh okay." I said. "You should try talking to her you know?" Haerin suggested, smirking. "Oh, shut up." I replied.
Maybe I should get to know her.
