November 26
Everyone in the art gallery gasped when they saw the realistic sculpture outside crying tears of blood from all around its body until it fell to pieces. Many screams of horrors echoed through the place as the sky rained suddenly and made the sculpture drizzle with crimson on the ground. What made the art show even more horrifying? The people looked at each other in suspicion from the crowd as they stood in the rain. How did it come to this?
The alarm on the phone woke a groaning Hadra up from her slumber. The place had her, Madara, Nahid, Rania. Four girls are sharing the place. Madara is the oldest and works as a waitress. Hadra and Nahid studying literature at the same Uni and Rania being fresh out of high school are trying to enjoy some free time out of the stress of studying and instead working in multiple part-time jobs. Madara decided to drive the two students to their Uni as She and Rania went to their workplace.
Today, the university was buzzing more than usual with the arrival of important people to give some sort of futuristic guiding speech blah blah blah. Hadra's hating thoughts were cut off by her bumping into her fluffy-haired friend, who looked as if he swallowed a lemon. Meet Willow. He's a genius second year who's into writing. Same English Studies major. He didn't bother to apologize to her before scurrying off to God knows where. Nahid looked concerned at the cup of coffee in Hadra's hand saved barely -*BAAM* someone else bumped immediately into Hadra, and this time. The cup of coffee had fallen on her white blazer. Nahid winced at the bad fall before she was cut off by the angry voice. "You stupid Lil shi-!! You ruined my favorite blazer!! What's with you even running anyway? Isn't it early to be in university when you should be in your class in 'High School', Meriem?"
Meet the Willow stalker aka Meriem. Is she creepy? Maybe. Is she annoying? Surprisingly, no. How can she enter this place exactly with no trouble? Well... Connections. She and her older brother Abd are related to the principal of this university. Hadra's monologue was cut off by Nahid's and Meriem's conversation. Nahid was using a napkin to wipe Hadra's blazer while talking to the younger girl. "Seriously, Meriem. Give poor Willie a break. You're scaring him off at this point."
Meriem, in return, huffed and said, "I'm not even bothering him. I'm just trying to convince him to be friends with me. Sorry, Hadra... Anyways, have you seen where he went?". Before Meriem was caught by her hoodie by none other than her older brother Abd, who chuckled sheepishly and said, "Sorry ladies. I'm dragging this brat back to school.". Hadra sighed. "What about my -" But Abd didn't let her finish and ran away with Meriem. Probably not wanting to deal with the consequences. Great...what a way to start a morning.
One would think that this would be the sort of cliche start of something. Surprisingly, the day went normal. Well, as normal as to expect a sudden visit from the said important figure coming to deliver a speech. Oh, I forgot to mention. Our university has many majors. For me, Willow and Nahid. We're studying literature in English and Arabic, with Nahid being the exception of us. Abd is a culinary major, but he's participating in sports events more than in classes. Not that he's any good at them. The top of his class is a cute girl who adores squirrels named Dan. The other remaining majors are the music, one which had Lili (Tweetie bird) and some freshman named Musaab, aka Bibo who's obsessed with Eminem. His older sister is Willow's rival in many things. Chess? Yes. Mbti? Frightening opponent. Maiden is known to have Willow break his standoffish personality. For a girl younger than us. She's more mature than some. Speaking of Maturity -
Bibo's voice was heard in the art Major classroom arguing with Audrey while Habib was watching. What bibo was doing here? His second obsession is the art obsession. His whole personality is based on Eminem, the rapper, and art. Habib is the anime-obsessed kid who somehow uses Bibo to make him draw a new waifu. Audrey is the most sensible one in the room and a grade-A artist. No jokes. Ruins his plan. Thus, the battle between Bibo and her starts when Willow (multi multi-talented kid) arrives to participate in their activity. Dan takes the opportunity to snap videos for memory (blackmail), and the art room becomes chaos when everyone joins it. Willow asks Dan, suddenly making everyone go silent at it. "We heard someone important is attending our Uni. They say he's a legendary chef or something." Abd grins and pushes forward."More legendary than me-". Meriem scoffs and replies instantly. "Always." Dan ignoring the small sibling bickering, smirks and puffs out her cheeks."Yeah!! He's a really important and secret figure. I know him very well. I won't give you any more hints." Maiden swirled her coffee cup handed by Nahid and spoke."You know him very well..? Isn't that enough hint already." Dan blinked before she could ask. Bibo scoffed and said, "It's obvious. He's your uncle. Didn't you say he's the only one who's the 'Amazing chef'?". Willow nodded and followed by, "Even Bibo got it. You're really bad at this." Everyone was joking amongst themselves, and Lily finally spoke."Hey, remember our small show? What if we joined hands and worked together to make up something for our Uni? You know... Considering this could be a good chance for us to get extra marks or some connections as well." Lily noticed the sudden silence and quickly grew insecure as if she said something wrong. Hadra then hummed and took a sip of her cup as she said, "Good idea. Not bad. Let's do this. But we should make a concrete plan for it first. Can we even work together? We're from different majors...". Hadra perked up and looked at Willow, who seemed confused at first. Before he grimaced when seeing Hadra, Maiden, Bibo, and Lily smirk at him. Willow looked at Meriem and said bluntly, "Convince your aunt to do this." Audrey pinched his cheek at his rudeness, but Meriem was fired up with determination and said,"Done. I'll tell her. As long as I'll get the chance to work with Willie!". Audrey looked at the rest of them, stating seriously, "How are we going to do this? Combining literature, culinary, music, and so into one good idea enough to impress everyone?" Bibo stood on his chair and continued."Leave it to the Musaab."
And so, everyone worked together to create the perfect art idea. Setting the right music, making the best food building the biggest statue they could manage together, and writing a mythology about it. It went on for days that even Madara and Rania decided to pitch in to help. Dan had her uncle to help her, and everything was going great.
Madara, one day, suggested an unusual activity. Bringing in a box. Hadra raised an eyebrow and scoffed, "Ouija board? Seriously? Even I know better than to mess with it. " Madara grinned and elbowed her while looking at the rest's unusual faces. "Come on!! It'll be fun!!". But upon noticing everyone not returning the same energy. She decided to be witty and say "Well...maybe we shouldn't do this in front of children and sensitive people-" Bibo, Meriem stood up and said, "Okay, we're in." And soon. Everyone joined with hesitation. Everyone put their hands in the same place and soon. The lights were flickering, and the door was slammed until most screamed (sans Madara, Hadra, Willow, and Maiden who only jumped a bit). Nahid shook Madara back and forth. "Are you crazy!? We're now haunted-". Madara smirked and waved the board as she said, "This isn't a real Ouija board!! I pranked you so hard. Ha ha!!". Poor Yasmine (who just visited to help) was the first to pull her hand away out of fright. She sighed in relief, and everyone tackled Madara for her mischievous.
The day we're setting everything in the open art gallery of the Uni. Dan was brimming with excitement and tugged her uncle, who was a well-known chef in the country named Majd. He was a prodigy in culinary, and Dan took after him in that aspect. Madara was surprised to see Majd here, considering he's her boss. Both of them spoke to each other while everyone was taking their seats. Lily suddenly walked towards us and asked, "Guys, have you seen Yasmine? She texted that she'll be busy, yet she hadn't been online for three days. I'm getting a bad feeling about this. Especially when the last time I met her. She told me that she'll make sure to attend the event today." Rania reassured her and patted her back."She'll be here for sure. And if not. Maybe she's really busy. Just focus on having fun, okay?"
Habib rushed towards us and told us about the sudden rain forecast of today and the huge possibility of it. Yet, we couldn't just hold back the event. It's worth the gamble, right?
Current time: Nov 26
After Majd made his speech, everyone applauded. The principal went and grabbed the white cloth covering the statue. "Our students decided to make this event more special by adding their special touch to it. And with this great honor, I present you" right when she said that. She took the white cloth off the statue. Everyone applauded, and Majd turned to Willow, Audrey, and Bibo with a raised eyebrow. "Wow, you guys really went beyond limits. This looks too real. Great job, kids." Yet Majd noticed how the gang had a weirded-out expression, and they all looked at each other with a 'Did you add something?' Look.
The sky suddenly rumbled slowly. Tender droplets graced the event, which made the audience gasp and chuckle. It was the calm before the storm in both meanings. The principal felt different coloured droplets on her face, and she turned around to come face to face with the statue breaking apart with the cracks filled with the bloody color mixed with water. Her scream pierced the shocked silence followed by another and soon. The event became chaos. The artistic gang turned pale at the sight. Hadra noticed something with the statue and said, "Hey, is that -". "Oh no... no no no no." Lily's scream was the loudest at the realization as she dropped to her knees in front of the statue and saw the corpse of Yassmine falling to the ground. Willow and Hadra were the only ones quiet yet disturbed while Majd went to cover his niece's teary eyes from the traumatizing situation while Bibo, Meriem, and Habib were being hugged by Audrey out of protection. Soon, the police siren, blue and red hue lighted up the fog caused by the rainy weather with Nahid tugging a frozen Hadra away with Madara. No words were spoken after this. What started as a happy occasion was the onset of disaster...
Unfortunately, it was not the end of it.
