In a world where animals ruled, there was a Rat kingdom ruled by King Powie, and a Cat Kingdom ruled by Queen Missy, mainly known as the "Cat Queen" by many.
Unfortunately, paths were crossed with King Powie and Queen Missy, making them be each other's arch nemesis. Since then, no cat was allowed freely on Rat kingdom land. No rat was allowed freely on Cat Kingdom land. Anytime the species encounter each other, they result with insults and violence. Wars between the kingdoms began, loosing thousands of soldiers every year.
Parents were strict over their kids on where they go and who they see. Although these 2 teenagers from the opposite species were not too supervised by both of their parents. The names of these teenagers were Ezra and Otis.
Ezra and Otis shared similar experiences yet so different from each other. From their favorite movie to their past. They share a similar past of family being taken, separation from society, and being discriminated. These experiences bring them together to share each other's thoughts and connect as opposite species that were supposed to be enemies. The unexpected allies.
