It was a cloudless sunny day, I was walking with my daughter to our favorite spot - The Sunny Lake.
We were crossing over the bridge above the waters. There were a few folks unbothered by our presence, enjoying the easy summer breeze.
As we got down to the lake, I handed my daughter her fishing rod and relaxation began.
After some time of fishing, we have caught a fair amount. So maybe it was time to call it a day, but as soon as I stood up i have seen a small hatch under the bridge.
Was this here before?
Being as curious as I am, I got up and approached the old entrance.
Locked.
But
There was a map in the corner of the door.
The map contained all sorts of markings, waves, trees, and... A key?
"Must be the key to the door." I thought. So I rushed into the woods to find it, telling my daughter to stay on the shore and wait for me.
I was walking through the forest and I haven't really seen anything besides the tall green trees. Until I tripped over something. It was a wooden box, barely buried in the dirt. I dug it up with my bare hands and opened it.
Inside of the box was a key. A small golden key. Perfect for the lock I've seen before.
I got up and hurried back, driven by my wish to know what's behind those doors.
I got back to the bay, and I didn't want my daughter near the hatch so I told her to stay away.
The door was rather heavy and rusty, who knows how long it's been here.
I had an idea.
I typed a rope around the door knob and told my daughter to tie it around a thick tree nearby, she seemed a little uncertain about all this, but I reassured her that there's nothing to worry about.
I went into the hatch, and it had a long horizontal hallway. There was only a closet in it with a few old coats and scarves, the walls were painted white, hauntingly white.
The hallway led to two rooms on each end.
I turned right. And I was mesmerized.
This wasn't just a random hatch... It was a whole underground complex.
I was standing in a giant lobby, with the fanciest furniture, and a two-ended stairway that led to the next floor.
"Maybe the second floor is in the hill." I whispered to myself, but all this time I felt rather uneasy.
Like I wasn't alone. I felt somebody's presence, and it didn't seem friendly.
As I approached the stairs I could've sworn I heard a light giggle on the top of them.
I pressed on, there's no way I'd stop there, no, I have to know what's up with this place.
On the second floor there wasn't much to see, just a giant empty corridor.
My ears started ringing.
What is going on?
I looked in front of me and there was a pale blonde girl, sitting in a wheelchair, smiling menacingly and she was all covered in blood, though... It seemed fresh...
She let out a frightening shriek and that was probably my cue to leave.
I darted off and she was chasing me down the staircase, when i reached the door handle i quickly pushed the hallway closet onto her.
She stopped screaming and instead giggled with a bone chilling voice.
And just as i was about to leave she grinned at me with a creepy giggle.
I ran outside and cut the cord. The door was sealed shut.
"We're leaving." I mumbled as i saw the figure of the woman looking at us through the window with her terrifying expression.
I tried getting rid of the key. But every time i would hide it, it came back.
