Meanwhile, across campus, Bradley Uppercrust III was busy executing his meticulously planned comeback. After his humiliating loss at the X-Games, Bradley had spent his summer training harder than ever. He'd been working on new tricks, refining his technique, and plotting his return to the top of the competitive circuit. This year was about reestablishing his dominance and making sure everyone knew he was back and better than ever.

The first few weeks of the semester passed in a blur of classes, homework, and the usual college chaos. Max tried to keep his focus on his studies, but it was hard to ignore the tension that simmered whenever he and Bradley crossed paths. Whether it was in the cafeteria, the quad, or even the library, Bradley was always there, ready with a snide comment or a sarcastic remark.
Bradley's return was marked by a conspicuous display of confidence. He strolled across campus with his usual swagger, his designer sunglasses perched on his nose and a smirk permanently etched on his face. His arrival did not go unnoticed; whispers of his return spread quickly, and it wasn't long before students were talking about the old rivalry between Bradley and Max Goof.
It wasn't long before their rivalry started to affect more than just their interactions. Bradley, it seemed, had made it his mission to outdo Max in every possible way. If Max was running for class president, Bradley would throw his hat in the ring. If Max signed up for a campus event, Bradley would be right there, determined to win.
The final straw came during the annual college carnival, a tradition that Max had always enjoyed. It was a day filled with games, food, and fun—a chance to relax and forget about the stress of school. But this year, Bradley had other ideas.
Max was in the middle of a ring toss game when he spotted Bradley at the dunk tank, surrounded by a group of students. Bradley's target? Max.
Bradley spotted Max almost instantly. He strode over to the ring toss game with the kind of assuredness that had made him a legend in the competitive world. "Well, well, well," Bradley drawled, his voice dripping with condescension. "Look who's back from his summer vacation. Did you have a nice time, Goof? Hopefully, you didn't spend too much time in the sun and lose all your competitive edge." Bradleys goons roared with laughter.
Max's eyes narrowed, and his friends fell silent, sensing the tension. "Bradley," Max said, his tone clipped but controlled. "I see you're still the same old Bradley. Good to see you again." He muttered, voice laced with sarcasm.
Bradley's smirk widened. "Oh, I'm better than ever. I've got big plans for this semester, and they don't include getting outperformed by second-rate competitors."
The challenge in Bradley's voice was unmistakable. Max's jaw tightened, but he kept his composure. "We'll see about that. I'm just here to focus on my studies and enjoy college. But if you want to make this semester interesting, I'm game."
Bradley's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Is that so? Well, let's just say I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got. I wouldn't want to disappoint my audience."
Max felt a familiar surge of irritation. The rivalry was back, and it seemed more intense than ever. The rest of lunch was spent in uneasy silence. Before he could say anything, Bradley turned to the people watching them.
"Step right up, folks!" Bradley called, his voice dripping with mock enthusiasm. "See if Max Goof can dunk me. Let's see if his throwing is just as bad as his skateboarding. Just one dollar for three throws!"
Max froze, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks. He could hear the snickers from the crowd, and it took everything in him not to march over and give Bradley a piece of his mind. But before he could decide what to do, PJ and Bobby appeared at his side.
"Don't let him get to you, Max," PJ said, his voice calm and steady. "He's just trying to make you look bad."
"Yeah, dude. We can totally mess with him later," Bobby added, though his grin suggested he was already planning something elaborate.
But Max shook his head. "No. I'm not letting him get away with this."
He walked over to the dunk tank, ignoring the way Bradley's eyes lit up with anticipation. Without saying a word, Max handed the booth attendant a dollar and picked up the first ball.
Bradley leaned back, arms behind his head, looking every bit the picture of arrogance. "Think you've got what it takes, Goof?"
Max didn't reply. He focused on the target, blocking out the noise of the crowd, the smug look on Bradley's face, and the pounding of his own heart. He took a deep breath, pulled back his arm, and threw the ball.
It hit the target dead center.
The crowd erupted in cheers as Bradley dropped into the tank with a splash, sputtering as he resurfaced. Max couldn't help but smile, feeling a rush of satisfaction. But his victory was short-lived.
As Bradley climbed out of the tank, dripping wet and seething, he locked eyes with Max. "This isn't over, Goof. Not by a long shot."
