12-Hour Shift

Hectic and agitating; bound to be forced by the room's urgency, neither one of the staff was idly passing by or having a nice leisure time. Stretchers creaked through the entrances of the room, some had complained about their unattended main causes of concern.

That's enough for my 12-hour unpaid shift at the hospital... 6am to 6pm, I felt like being shackled by gravity-pulling my legs the more I take another step.

Having to deal with a stubborn child just to obtain his vital signs would already be tricky because how can you assess his respiration if he's crying? YES, you have to wait for him to stop crying!

WHICH MEANS
Stand there awkwardly while his guardian tries to calm him down. Then you're alerted by your group leader for taking too long.

I have patience, time doesn't.
I have time to wait and I could take even a newborn's cry for hours.

But will my schedule wait for me?
No.
Time waits for no one.

I looked against the reflection of myself from a glass window and thought-damn. Even my hair gel can't keep its shit together.

And holy shit, it's morning already?
Oh, the sun is still setting...

Over and over again, in a never-ending cycle. Yes. I go home, eat, sleep, wake up, piss, eat, go to nursing school, graduate, get a job, and do the same shit over and over again before I die. The same system, same cycle since the existence of man.

Yeah I'm think about all of this as I walk through the lively streets of the city where its constantly bustling with people and laughing which will eventually die down once they're all asleep and it's kinda funny
