This story is set in the Fear the Walking Dead universe. Fear is a spin-off of the original show, initially set on the West Coast, in California. It has a unique opportunity to show the beginning of the virus break out. That being said, expect this work to contain various spoilers for the series.
I want to preface that I do not claim to own any rights to the Walking Dead franchise, nor any of its characters. This is purely a fan-fiction. Mavis Clark is an original character I'm developing that's being written into the real FearTWD Clark family. Trigger Warnings⚠️: Like in the real show, there will be content in this story that revolves around graphic violence, drug addiction, suicide, and a lot of other sad and gruesome deaths. Please keep that in mind and read at your own discretion. I will put a warning for particularly harsh scenes at the top of their respective chapters.
Additionally, Mavis has a cleft lip, and a lot of her story revolves around her perception of herself growing up with a facial deformity. This is a condition that I myself have, so I'm speaking mainly out of personal experience, but I understand it's not everyone with a facial difference's experience.
