𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝟐𝟕

pain was all marie could feel as she witnessed this heartbreaking sight. it was amazing how fast your life could change in an instant. she just watched as her newlywed husband kissed all over her longtime best friend.

she thought about confronting them. hell, she thought about killing them. but she just couldn't. she couldn't even move. 

her mind wondered on where and what went wrong for them to do this to her. tears started to form in the brink of her eyes. just as she was about to confront them, someone tapped her shoulder. 

marie turned around to see her mom and dad.

"what's wrong sweetie, we came to che-..." her moms says until she realizes what her daughter had just witnessed.

her dad took notice as well and anger consumed him. it was his little girl and he would harm anyone or anything that did her wrong. he slammed open the door and grabbed marie's now ex husband, alex by the collar and punched him. 

alex didn't even fight back, he honestly couldn't. marie's dad was beyond stronger than him. her mother gave her now ex best friend a look of shame and took marie out of the room. that's when her tears fell.

"i know baby, i know... i promise you're going to be okay. sometimes the devil puts obstacles in your way but the Lord will take you through." her mother says to comfort her.

marie wipes her face and looks up at her mom.

"thank you."

days go by, marie stayed in house, having tv marathons, binge eating, and shutting everyone out. her family and other friends came by to give her motivation, but she just simply couldn't.

months and months past, she slipped into a depression and started to live in her work. she used to be the type to go out to clubs and different restaurants with friends, but over time, she became a homebody. 

eventually two years fly by. marie had climb up her work ladder and made it to vice president of the fashion company she was working at.

a knock was placed on her office door, "come in!" she says.

"wassappp, i brought you a strawberry refresher with lemonade just how you like it." her friend, lelani says.

she walks up to marie's desk and sets it down, "thank you lei."

marie takes a sip of the drink but notices leilani eyeing her. she knew what the those eyes meant. she mentally sighed as she set her cup back down.

"so i have some good news," leilani says as she bats her eyelashes.

"and what is that?"

"i know you said you hate these but you need to get out your comfort zone honey. i got you a blind date. his name is jamie, he's 29, about 5'10, he owns at the mechanic shop down the street, hasn't been married, no kids, brown skin, and he looks so delicious." 

"well if you think he's so delicious, you go out with him." marie says as she rolls her eyes playfully.

"oh you know i would, but im still messing with my lil shit. he's so pressure and the d is heavenly."

"you're so dirty." marie says while laughing.

"girl you're the one who needs to be getting dirty, i haven't heard you tell me about someone taking you to pound town ever."

marie sighs, "well i'm just not focused on that right now. it's just a distraction."

"oh girl, more like it's a mood booster please." leilani laughs. "alright i have to go see what my boss wants but imma be back later for our lunch date. love you mj!"

"love you to!"

the tired vice president walks into her room after a long day and gets ready for shower. she gets in and decompresses from her day. summer walker played lowly while she cleaned her body.

she eventually gets out and dries herself. then walks over to the sink to complete her skin routine.

she finishes and put on some comfy clothes. once done, she gets in bed and turns on the tv. after switching the channel 30 times, she comes across one of her favorite movies, 'the simpsons movie.'

she was a die hard simpsons fan and love everything them.

after about an hour, she falls asleep. though her body was still, her mind was not. she was still haunted about the things that took place on that horrible day.

alex and her ex best friend, kayla, had both tried to win her back over with apologies, gifts and everything under the sun. but marie knew they only ere doing these things because they were caught.

eventually her mind lets her rest and she drifts off to sleep.
