A/n : this is kinda short sorry !

Yes. it's true. I've been dating my best friend in secret for a year. I love him and he loves me but we can't let anyone know. We almost told my sister, Taylor, but I backed out at the last second. It's hard being gay in such a homophobic, judgmental town, Westport.

I wake up on coopers bed and his arm is rested over me. He is sleeping so peacefully that I can hear his careful
I stay there just staring at him for a few minutes or even hours, I'm not sure but I was awoken from my gaze when I heard someone coming down the stairs towards the basement.

The sound forces me to jump up, if anyone saw me and cooper this close in the same bed their would be some questions. I jump into my bed just in time as the door opens. Mom enters holding a large, very large, laundry basket.

"OLIVER! COOPER! GET UP NOW" she yells in her moody morning voice. I hear cooper moan in response but mom just rolls her eyes and turns back to the door.
"Breakfast in 5 minutes boys." She finishes before closing the door behind her.

I get up and go to sit on the edge of coopers bed. I smile as he rolls over.
'Come on babe we have to get up now' I say. He finally opens his eyes and sits up. His soft hair is messy from the way he was sleeping and it makes me giggle.

'What' he says waking up more.
'Nothing your just cute.' I say looking into his sleepy, shiny eyes. He leans forward and our lips meet for a small touch.

A few minutes later we both headed up to eat our breakfast and then left for school. Since cooper is older than me he is able to drive now and I still have to wait so he drives us to school. As we say goodbye to my family, which is basically his family too we head to school.

'How are you feeling about the history exam?' He says as he starts the car and we get set on the road. I totally forgot about that exam. 'I'm guessing not good then..?' He says guessing from my silence. He reaches over and grabs my hand. He squeezes it tightly and it sends butterflies in my stomach.

Soon we arrive at school. We still hangout with eachother but we use no PDA at all. Once before there was a rumour I was gay and I don't want those back,even if it is sort of true.

The first two periods go fast but boring. lunch came around soon enough. I met coop at our usual table. We try to sit as far away from the wealthy homophobes who used to be our friends .

As we eat we start to prepare for our exam which is in only 30 minutes. My mind starts to do the thing it always does before something important. Overthink. I must be showing it because cooper grabs my hand under the table so no one can see.
'It's gonna be okay' he whispers into my ear and it travels through my mind killing all of the bad thoughts.
