The man didn't spend 18 years flying under the radar by being an amateur, and Jonny boy's proven to be no slouch in that area either. We're gonna need help, a lot of help." She said, looking at Alec, who understood what she was saying.

"From whom?" Jace asked..

"Everyone." Alec said, standing up from the desk.

"Yeah, about that, you might want to be prepared to see the Seelie Queen at the meeting instead of Meliorn today because she will be there." Alyssa said, also standing up.

"How do you know that? And why won't Meliorn be the one attending?" Clary asked, slightly angry at the prospect of having to see the Seelie Queen.

Alyssa could understand her anger. "Meliorn was just an ambassador the last time since the Queen was busy meeting us. This time, she plans to be involved, especially with everything going on."

"Wonderful." Jace muttered under his breath as they all left the office.

Meeting Room

The Queen was seated at the head of the table, with Raphael next to her. Magnus stood behind her, and Luke stood behind the chair next to her, leaning slightly on the back of the chair.

Alyssa, Alec, Izzy, Jace, and Clary all walked into the room and joined them.

"Where, oh, where is Simon?" The queen asked mockingly, angering Clary.

"Not here, as you can see." Alyssa replied coldly.

"Your Highness, what an unpleasant surprise." Clary said sarcastically with a false smile. Alec gave her a look of reproach, then turned to the queen.

"Well, I'm sure she didn't mean to..."

"Ah, ah, ah, Alec. No buttering up. Clary means what she means. She didn't mince words or stutter." Alyssa said, cutting Alec off.

"I agree." Jace said, looking at the Seelie Queen coldly. "Your Majesty, is this another one of your little games?" He asked.

"The Institute called an emergency meeting of the Downworld Council. I speak on behalf of the Downworld." The Queen said.

"Of course you do." Alyssa remarked quietly.

"Henceforth, when you need anything from the Downworld, you shall address me, Mr. Lightwood. Such is the nature of our new agreement." The Queen continued, ignoring Alyssa for the moment.

"Your Highness, Valentine believes that the Institute has the Mortal Mirror, and he's not going to leave the city without it. I would like the Downworld's help in locating him." Alec said formally.

"In order to capture him so that he might escape once again?" The queen asked in a sarcastic tone..

"In order to execute him, so that this threat may finally end." Alec asserted.

Alyssa decided to stay quiet, letting Alec take the lead. She chose to observe the other Downworld leaders, Luke, Raphael, and Magnus.

Judging by the looks on their faces, she could tell her father and Raphael were not as trusting of the queen as Magnus seemed to be. They weren't with her hundred percent, and it showed.

"And why should we believe you?"

Alec looked down slightly and then looked back up at the queen. "I understand why you might doubt my intentions after what happened with the Soul-Sword. And for that, I am sorry.

But I founded this council to make things more transparent between the Downworld and the Clave." Alyssa inwardly sighed at the grave that Alec just dug for himself with the last statement.
