Carly's POV

As I walked out of the coffee shop I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I can't believe I actually did it. I'm terrified everyone will hate me, but I can't let them stop me from being me from finding my missing piece. I have three days to plan the perfect date, but right now I have to worry about getting through my shift without telling anyone. I would normally run to Char, but I don't want anyone to know unless there is actually something to tell. Why rock the boat if there are no waves, right?

My shift was going by quickly. I was working in the rooms with Char and Sorscha. All the parents were really nice today. We only had one accident. A little girl fell and scraped her knee. The day was coming to a close and we only had 2 kids left, Jamie and another little boy. Char was doing handover with the parent when Viv walked in. Sorscha was cleaning, so I went to do handover with her.

"Hiya Viv, Jamie has had a great day and is ready to go. Jamie why don't you get your things out of your tray,"

"Hey, Carly, That's great to hear. How are you doing?" she asked, as Jamie ran to gather his things.

"Oh, I'm great, how bout you?"

"I'm good. So I take it you talked to the girl?" she asked, innocently, but this made my heart drop.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry I shouldn't have brought that up here. I wasn't thinking," she said, hushed but panicked. I guess she could see the panic flood my face.

"It's fine, Viv, really. I just didn't want everyone to know just yet," I said, putting on a smile, trying to downplay it, but I really hope neither of them heard what she said.

"I'm sorry again. We will talk soon. Come on Jamie bon bon is waiting to hear about your amazing day," she said, walking out of the room.

I didn't have to turn around to know I had eyes glued to my back. I took a deep breath and turned around, and I had not only Char but Sorscha too, looking at me with shocked expressions. I began to move about the room to help shut it down, and I was hoping they wouldn't ask questions, but I guess that was hopeful thinking.

"Carly, what was she talking about?" Char asked.

"Yeah, what girl?" Sorscha followed.

"It's nothing. Really. Just something I asked Viv for help with," I answered, not wanting to lie to them, but also not wanting to tell them yet either.

"I get you and her are close especially after Siobhan was taken, but Carls you tell me everything. Why wouldn't you come to me?" Char asked.

"Char, it's nothing," I laughed it off.

"If it's nothing then why did you need help and why do you keep running from our questions?" Sorscha jumped in. I know they are worried. I don't keep secrets from any of them, especially Char.

"Because I couldn't come to you any of you," I lowering my head.

"You can always come to us. Why would you think you can't?" Char asked, sadness evident in her voice.

"Because I could lose all of you,"

"Well, that's never going to happen. Please tell us what's going on," Char said, and lying felt impossible.

"I met a girl. We instantly clicked and I think I like her. I asked her on a date on Friday. That's what Viv was asking about," I said, holding back the information about who she was.

"That's awesome, but why would you think you would lose us because you are going on a date with a girl? Haft the staff here is gay." Char asked, confused.
