Forgotten dragon warriors

Centuries back/ The begining

Blood... the smell of blood was the last thing she had said before that brutal war.

The body of a dragon. The body of no one's soul.

Much blood was spilt for years and years.... Almost never ending. Dragons fighting for their survival and freedom, mankind fighting because they are scared and afraid of death.
Survival was key.

Now, that war was never spoken of. No one knows and no one cares... It's only in the books now...
But I was the only one who had secret interest in such things. I didn't know why, but it was like this flame inside of me was being fueled every time I thought about it... that's when my journey began...

ALEX'S POV:

Wow... my first day in high school... It shouldn't be more different than middle school right? Just harder work and more studies, maybe more drama, hopefully more friends. But I'm sure it won't be as different as middle school. I have my friends Ash and Jason I'm sure they will be by my side through out high school.

I slowly walk on the pathway that leads to the school doors. I've always wondered why I was sent here. My parents had chosen this school because I was different from other children. I've always had that sort of hunch though. After all, every one in the school were all sorts of different animal hybrids. Any animal hybrid you could imagine was right there in front of you. I always had a sense I didn't belong. I am not one of the animal hybrids, in fact I am a human. Though my parents were deer breeds, I wasn't born with any deer features. I didn't understand and still don't now, nor do my parents.
My friends are also, yes animal hybrids. Jason is a wolf hybrid. He is really sweet and he is horrible at hiding his emotions. And I mean horrible. Ash is a gazelle. She is gorgeous and is awful skinny. She has a short temper and often gets pissed at Jason. We're all friends so it's common.
I finally open the school doors the cool air blows against my face which sends a small shiver through my body. I walk through the door eventually shutting after I let go. I looked around, the same building as last year, nothing interesting about it... I spot my locker. My locker, like everyone else's, is a dark blood red. Each one looked spent and beat up.
I walk to my locker and I gently place my small backpack inside and shut the door, locking it. I put my headphones on and I start walking to my first class...

JASONS POV:

"Where the hell is this guy..." I mutter sharply under my breath as Ash follows me. We were walking down the hall in search for Alex

"Maybe he's in class already- I don't blame him the bell's about to ring any moment!" She tugs at my hand attempting to stop me.
I roll my eyes and sigh heavily.
"Fine. But after class we have to find him. We haven't seen him all summer." I start walking again waving my hand signaling her to pick up the pace.
I look around. The school is in a pretty bad condition... it was never the best school anyways. My grandfather only sent me here because he was thoughtful enough to send me to a place that had my own people... animal hybrids like me.
My grandfather isn't the nicest nor the most loving person I have met... but he's all I have for now. I'm going to have to suck it up and deal with it.
I shake my head as if I were to shake my thoughts away and I continue walking down the hall spotting Alex.
"Oh hey man, we were looking for y- oh she left." I sigh and shake my head in disappointment.
"Oh you needed me? What's wrong?" He said, taking his headphones off leaving his hair droop across his face which made me snicker a little.
"Pft.. uhm well we were just looking for you because we just haven't seen you in a while,"
I smile at him which triggers him to smile back, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Oh- well I've missed you guys a lot, sorry I wasn't able to talk to you guys over the summer. You know how my mom is..." His expression sours as my smile softens a little.
"Haha yeah.. sounds tough man.." I sigh softly. "Well we better head to class, it's about time to leave anyways." I say, my expression softens the more I speak to him.
"Alright man, I'll be going. I'll see ya at around lunch- I'm going to be outside," He says as he waves while walking away. I walk away and nod at him indicating that I will be there.
I sigh again. It's a thing I do often and I don't really plan on fixing it. Maybe it's because of stress I would never know.
