Chapter 13: Mount Natagumo

"But why would they do that?" Uraraka quietly asked as they stared at Murata in horror. No doubt he was just as shaken up about the whole ordeal and became even more agitated the more they heard a slow creaking sound getting closer.

"Do I wanna know?" Mina whimpered stepping closer to the rest as they pulled out their Katanas.

"Probably not." Tanjiro said as he let his eyes scan the area.

Far in the distance a white-haired lady was laughing and using the threads on her fingers to manipulate the corpses into attacking anything or anyone she wanted. "Now then my sweet little dolls. Dance until your arms and legs fall off!"

"Not again." Murata began to uncontrollably tremble. "It's that sound again! I've heard it before...and the next thing I knew everyone started killing each other."

"But where's it even coming from?" Tanjiro asked as he continued to look around until they could see more demon slayers sluggishly walking towards them with their swords already drawn.

"Is this some stupid initiation crap?! Because if it is we're not interested!" Bakugo barked back.

"It's not." Tanjiro gulped right before sidestepping an attack from one of the demon slayers. "They're not moving normally! They're being manipulated by something!"

"You think?!" Bakugo just managed to jump out of the way before raising his hands.

"Alright. I'm gonna slash them to ribbons!" Inosuke grabbed both his swords in preparation to attack.

"No! You can't do that! They're still alive and even if they aren't we can't harm the corpses of our teammates!" Tanjiro shouted over his shoulder.

"Damn it!" Bakugo barely managed to dodge another slash aimed directly at him.

Knocking the legs from under one of the demon slayers Uraraka swiftly got to her feet before activating her quirk and floating upwards.

"Ohh....an angel?" Inoskue momentarily stopped fighting as little fuzzy bubbles surrounded him.

Giggling Uraraka shook her head right as she felt a harsh tug on her legs and arms. "AGH!"

"Uraraka!" Reaching his hand out Bakugo let off small explosions with his other as he blasted himself forward. His fingers barely grazed hers before being pulled back to the fight by the treads on his legs. "No!" He watched as she was snatched away and into the darkness of the mountain,

"Don't worry I got her!" Mina shouted as she flung herself over a couple of demon slayers and continued to run past them towards the direction her friend was taken.

"Shit!" Angrily burning away the threads attached to him he made to go after but was stopped when a few more demon slayers began attacking him once more. "Out of my way!"

"Don't disturb the peaceful life of our family. Mother will waste no time in killing you." A small boy suddenly appeared to be standing hovering no...was he standing on threads?

"Who the hell's this guy?" Bakugo snapped his head upwards already well beyond fed up with this place and now two more of his friends were missing.

"Mother?" All of Tanjiro's alarm bells went off as he began to look around to see if any other threats were closing in while Inosuke tried to make a go at the small boy but couldn't jump high enough to reach him.

"Where are you going?! Fight me!" Inoskue shouted as the boy walked away.

"Inosuke!" Tanjiro waited for him to get back up as he swiftly dodged another attack. "That kids probably isn't the demon pulling the puppet strings! So first we have to-"
