APATI and SALUS are half-eternal beings. they have the powers of an eternal, but the mortality of a human.
their mother died in childbirth, and thus, they lived with gilgamesh and thena in rural australia. gilgamesh met her during his vacation in fiji, and maintained contact with her throughout the pregnancy. after her second pregnancy, she passed away, leaving two year-old APATI and a newborn SALUS under gilgamesh's care (with the help of the other eternals).
APATI is named after apate, the greek goddess of deceit, which is fitting to her power of portal creation. SALUS is named after the roman goddess of protection, and his power is the creation of force fields.
to honor their human heritage, gilgamesh decided to give them their mother's last name, which is rang. however, they consider thena as their mother just as much as their biological mother.
both siblings are musically inclined, thena made sure of it. APATI excels in classical dance while SALUS plays instruments.
both siblings excel in hand-to-hand combat per their parents training. it came in handy with thena's mahd wy'ry whenever she went rogue — they're able to defend themselves.
