Chapter 11: Combustion Man

Start from the beginning

When she saw him slowly opening his eyes, she quickly grabbed his hand and swiftly pulled him towards her as she activated her quirk and desperately clutched him closer to her, still feeling the aftereffects of possible not making it in time and losing him. "Bakugo!"

Slowly coming to it, he could feel the familiar effects of her quirk as he glances down to see her still clutching his shirt. "Uraraka?"

"Guys!" Kaminari frantically waved his hands in the air from a few feet away along with Kirishima who was trying to say something while pointing at the bracelet.

"What?!" Bakugo frowned when he saw their scared faces but couldn't hear what they were saying.

"This thing's going crazy!" Kaminari tried again to make his quirk stop, but it seemed nothing worked.

"Oh man..." Kirishima's eyes grew along with the familiar blue orb now surrounding them. "Guys!"

Pulling away, Uraraka saw the same orb surrounding her as well as a surprised Bakugo.

"Shit." He hissed when he realized what that meant. "Cheeks hang on!"

Nodding she felt him tighten his hold around her shoulder and use his quirk to give them a boost to get to Mina and then towards the other two, but it was too late.

"Guys?" Aang landed next to Katara as they watched on in amazement as Mina was suddenly surrounded by a faint blue ball. The same as the others, before her eyes widened and she vanished.

"W-what was that?" Sokka finally spoke after the long silence that lingered.

"Don't know." Aang quietly said kneeling down towards the spot Mina had stood not long ago.

"They all just...vanished." Katara breathed out in awe still not believing her own eyes.

"Guys?" Toph turned their attention to an equally stunt Zuko now walking over to them.

"Aang?" Katara curiously asked the Airbender.

"Let's hear him out. See what he has to say." He replied back, gripping his staff and cautiously staring at Zuko.

"Listen, I know I didn't explain myself very well the other day. I've been through a lot in the last few years, and it's been hard. But I'm realizing that I had to go through all those things to learn the truth. I though I had lost my honor, and that somehow my father could return it to me. But I know that no one can give you your honor. It's something you earn for yourself, by choosing to do what's right. So, all I want to do now is play my part in ending this war and I know my destiny is to help you restore that balance to the world." He then turned to Toph to give her an apologetic bow. "I'm sorry for what I did to you. It was an accident. Fire can be dangerous and wild, so as a fire bender I need to be more careful and control my bending, so I don't hurt people unintentionally."

At Zukos words Aang was startled for a moment, never having expected Zuko of all people to say that. "I think...you are supposed to be my fire bending teacher. When I first tried to fire bend, I burned Katara and after that, I never wanted to fire bend again. But now I know you understand how easy it is to hurt the people you love. So Zuko, I'd like you to teach me." He bows back at Zuko.

"Um..." Lifting his hand Sooka still tried to wrap his head around everything that happened in just a few minutes. "So, are we just going to ignore the fact that we saw those five suddenly disappear into thin air?"

Glancing back at Minas last spot they simply shrugged just as baffled, no one could come up with any logical conclusion as to what happened to them just hoping that they were ok.

"Alright, just thought I'd ask."

"They did say they weren't from here." Toph grinned. "Would be nice to see them again."

Nodding they all one by one left to go inside the temple after agreeing to let Zuko stay. Turning his head to take one last look around Zuko gave a small smile. "Thank you."

Just as quickly as they left, they were swiftly thrown back out of the orb and now heading straight into a big tree thanks to their joined quirks.

"Shit!" Bakugo yelled out, quickly wrapping his body around Uraraka as a shield and protectively place his hand and arm over her head as they roughly bounced off the tree with him taking most of the hit before hovering a feet off the ground. "Round face?" he winced.

Heavily breathing Uraraka carefully opened her eyes and released her quirk. "Omph!"

The moment she did she felt Bakugo's weight on her but luckily for her he managed to catch himself landing with his hands on either side of her head.

"A little warning next time would be nice." He huffed watching her eyes go from startled to confused then settle on shock. "You're welcome by the way."

Parting her mouth, she continued to feel her face redden after every second Bakugo remained on top of her as if he wasn't even the slightest bit aware of their current position and if anyone were to see them right now, they would immediately jump to conclusions she would not know how to get out of.

"What?" He frowned when she began to avert her eyes and his automatically drifted down to her plum pink lips. That's when it suddenly hit him. Any other time he would freak out, but there was just something about the way her flushed face made him feel at the moment and something inside him felt excited about the fact that it may have been because of him. "What's the matter Uraraka?" he teased with a sideways smirk.

What he wasn't counting on was the quick glare she gave him right before her eyes almost bugged out of her head and she shrieked. "EEP!"

"The fu-" Stumbling back on his feet his hand immediately went to his cheek after the slap she gave him. "Goddamn! Mother of all hell.... damn it Round face you could've just told me to get off!"

"AGH!" She continued to frantically jump around closer to him until she used her quirk on herself to float above the ground and held onto his arm to ground herself which he tried to shove off.

Even though this was the girl he could see himself with, right now the way his cheek was feeling he could care less if she ended up floating up by the trees. "Shit." He grunted rubbing the sore spot and making sure his jaw was still intact.

"EEP Bakugo!" she continued to cling onto the sleeve of his shirt while he lightly tried to shove her off, not realizing that she had been trying to move a spider out of his face.

"I get it alright!" He scowled back at her and was about to tell her off when he saw the frightful tears in her eyes. "The hell's wrong with you?"

"L-look!"

Following her line of sight, he could now see they were surrounded by nothing but tall trees. "This is definitely not Musutafu." He mumbled still feeling Uraraka clutching onto him.

Moments like these was what he was waiting for, hell it was what he had been dreaming of for the longest time. But now between the slapping and their current surroundings he couldn't enjoy it the way he wanted to. All he could feel was as if being at the bottom of a lake as the cold forest around them continued to shroud them in darkness.

Usually, you would hear some kind of noise from even the smallest of animals around, but it was dead silent. The ominous feeling continued to grow as they spun around.

"B-Bakugo...." Uraraka stuttered from over his shoulder.

Wrinkling his noise, he had to cover it when an overwhelming stench of blood began to take over. "You smell that shit?" When he saw her nod while still glancing up, he followed her eyes.

There were cobwebs upon cobwebs spread in every direction in different sizes with a few more spiders close by and a few scattered Katanas everywhere.

"B-Bakugo!" Uraraka yelped as a spider tried to land on her shoulder and Bakugo quickly moved them out of the way.

"Where the hell are we?" His own eyes widened as they saw more spiders headed their way.
