Chapter 8: Zuko

"Dannnnggg this got even more interesting...""

"Mina!" Uraraka quietly scolded.

"Ok wait." Seriously getting tired of this Bakugo lifted his hand looking up at everyone since he still didn't feel the energy to get up, and my god why wasn't this damn headache going away! "The hell's wrong with him joining your stupid group? Especially if he wants to teach the little bald kid how to play catch or some shit."

"I'm 112." Aang indignantly crossed his arms.

"Same shit." Bakugo waited for them to clarify because if they didn't do it soon, he was going to blast them out of this damn air temple of whatever this was.

"He's fire nation!" Katara and Sokka both shouted.

"So?" Quirking a brow Bakugo dragged his eyes from both siblings then back to Zuko. "What's wrong with that?"

"Fire! He fire bends!" Sokka cried out as if it was the most obvious thing to be mad about.

"Apparently anyone with a fire bending power is considered their enemy." Zuko looked at his hands before clenching them.

"Especially you!" Katara spat.

"Wait, you seriously don't like someone just because they fire bend or come from the fire nation?" Uraraka sternly asked.

"You weren't there!" Katara whirled around. "If you were then you would hate them just as much as I do. They cause nothing but problem."

"Of fuckin course...." Bakugo groaned hearing Kaminari whimper next to him. "Not so funny now huh Sparky?!"

"Wait..." Carefully walking over to them Aang furrowed his brows. "Now that I think of it, you two never told us what bending powers you have."

With a deep exhale Bakugo saw Uraraka, Kirishima and Mina cringe in their direction, but instead of letting it bother him he just let a slow wicked smirk appear on his face. "Well, you see..."

"I can't believe you did that!" Uraraka fumed pacing back and forth.

"Oi, they asked for it." Bakugo continued to keep his smirk on his face remembering their shocked expression when instead of telling them what their quirks were he just decided a demonstration was in order and boy did that feel good to finally use his quirk. During all his time with his quirk and working on improving it throughout all these years he found that if he didn't use it on a daily basis, he wouldn't feel the same. "Besides it was one small explosion."

"You blew up the pretty water fountain." She deadpanned.

"So, what. They asked, didn't they?"

"And now we're stuck outside out in the open. With the castaway." Mina pointed over her shoulder at Zuko who rolled his eyes.

"I already told you guys you could stay here."

The sun had set completely and Katara was right, it was starting to get colder out.

"And it's not like you guys were kicked out." Zuko felt himself smiling. "Just the two of you."

"Dude!" Kaminari lifted his hands in exhaustion. "I didn't even do anything! And my quirks not working like it should." Kaminari lifted his hand with only a faint spark.

"Fire idiot has a point." Bakugo huffed wiping his hands on his pants after getting the fire started. "You morons should head on down to the temple."

"And leave you guys here?" Kirishima shook his head. "No way man."

"I mean he did exile himself...." Mina mumbled with a small grin but quickly bit her lip when Kirishima gaped at her.

"Fuck off Raccoon eyes no one wants you hear anyways!"

"Oh, you don't?" Mina raised her brows.

"Hell no!"

"Oh no...that really hurts Bakugo...I can't believe-see ya!" Not missing a beat and grinning she made to grab Uraraka's hand. "Let's go Ochaco!"

"Wait!" Planting her feet on the ground which prevented Mina from pulling her, Uraraka looked over at a silent Bakugo sitting next to the fire. "We're not leaving them."

"Just go." He said not even looking at them. "No point in everyone staying here."

"Thanks bro." Kaminari pouted slouched against a rock.

Seeing Kirishima silently nod, Uraraka was about to protest when Bakugo spoke again.

"Just go already."

"Come on Chako." Mina moved her along until they made their way back down to the temple.

"Smooth." Kaminari shook his head.

"Shut up." Bakugo scoffed glaring at the fire.

"What a day!" Kirishima dropped down next to him.

"That your girlfriend or something?" Zuko handed them each a blanket.

"She is." Kaminari chuckled.

"Might as well be." Kirishima hummed. "Just Bakugo hasn't worked up the nerve."

"Not now Shitty hair." Bakugos warning tone just made both boys laugh when they saw the blush growing on his face.

"Well, I guess I just arrive on time." Sokka happily grinned quietly ushering over a tired Appa.

"The hell you're doing here?" Bakugo looked over his shoulder.

"Bakugo my man!" Lazily draping and arm over him and Kirishima Sokka looked once more over his shoulder before whispering. "Couldn't sleep so I figured it wouldn't hurt to go on a little night ride. Care to join me?"

"Thought you guys didn't want anything to do with us?" Kaminari sat upright.

"Well, I'm still working on getting the others to let you guys' back in." Glaring back at Zuko, Sooka shrugged. "Not you though, that's going to take some time."

"Gee thanks."

"What you have in mind?"

"Well Kaminari I'm glad you asked." Walking over to Appa, Sokka gestured for them to hop on. "Since Aang never lets me borrow Momo I figured Appa wouldn't mind."

Yawning Appa leaned down using this time to close his eyes.

"Not interested." Bakugo scowled keeping his place by the warm fire.

"Come on! No one here wants to go." Frustratingly rolling his head Sokka let out a dramatic groan. "I'll even let you come but just keep this between us, no one gets to know where we're going."

"Really?" Zuko eagerly got up.

"Yeah, doesn't mean I like you though." Sokka made sure to stress that out for him keeping a close eye on Zuko once he hopped on. "Bakugo?"

Already regretting his decision, he slowly made his way towards the giant bison who lifted its head and licked him straight across the cheek. "Eww! What the hell you giant furball!"

"Shh keep quiet!" Sokka whisper yelled checking to make sure the coast was clear.

"Where are we going anyways?" Bakugo reluctantly got in the seat next to Zuko which was on the opposite side from Kirishima and Kaminari.

"Oh, you'll see good buddy. But once we get some of that delicious cactus juice all your worries will seem far away."
