(SOY POV again)
The day and time was Saturday and 2 pm. Soy worked at a local sushi/boba shop in town that was small but somehow paid well, she had just finished prepping a doordash order when the bell rang signaling that someone just walked in
"Hi Welcome to Seaside caf.....e-" the person who walked in was none other than Kinito, the guy who kept staring at her and following her at school...greatttt- (OH SHIT I FOUND THAT SPARE BEEF FLAVOUR PACKET)
Kinito took one glance at her and instantly blushed.. t-the hell?! Did this guy like her or something?! That's weirdd
"What can I get for you?" Soy spoke up after a long minute of silence. Kinito looked at her and stammered but managed to get out "I-I'll have a sugar tiger boba, please"
"Ok, comin' right up" Soy said as she went to the back for a cup then started making the boba, after like- 4 minutes, Kinito spoke up
"So uhh... You're single right?-" ...Did this guy wanna take her out?? NO WAY- DID HE?!?!
"Are you trying to ask me out or something?" Soy asked with a small smirk
"T-They'll be food-" Kinito stuttered.. damnit.. he mentioned food, now she had no choice but to say yes
"Fine.. BUT ONLY FOR THE FOOD" Soy exclaimed, she hated guys with a burning passion like how much oil hated water, Soy and kinto were the oil and water in this situation.
"Great! Tonight? At 7 pm? A-At uhh.. I dunno red robins or something?" Kinito spoke happily like a kid in a candy shop
"Sure, why not." Soy scoffed, today was the only day she would have preferred working late, work could be nice sometimes if you don't wanna people, but unfortunately she had to go to this date... for the free food-
(TIME SKIP TO DATE TIME)
Soy walked in to see that Kinito was already there... this guy actually showed up..huh. They both sat down across from each other awkwardly and just staring at the forks and napkins on the table until Soy spoke up
"So...What's your favourite colour?" She asked, wanting to get to know him ofc
"It's green, what's yours?"
"Purple. What about hobbies? What do you like to do?" She asked, green was an interesting colour and now she wanted to get to know him more.
"I like to code, and uhh.. draw I guess?"
"Cool, I like to draw, write, listen to music and sometimes go out on little nature walks at the park near my apartment" She replied, smiling a little, this was the first date where someone hadn't bailed on her, it was nice
"Your apartment is the one on Balls creek right?" Kinito asked
"Uhh, yeah..how'd you know?" She was rather confused and only a little concerned now
"That's the only complex with a park near it" Kinitoe smiled, finally their food arrived, they both got the same thing which was just steak and mashed potatoes like- cmon man they're simple
(After the date)
Kinito had dropped off Soy at her apartment, not even mentioning how he knew where and which apartment she lived in, it was weird but sweet
"I'll see you monday?" He asked with a small smile and some blush on his face
"Sure, cya monday, Kinito." Soy then walked inside to hear yelling from the apartment above her, her neightbour was noisy but she was really nice once you got to know her, her name was Mary, once Soy thought Mary performed sacred rituals in her bedroom when it was just her playing Minecraft and talking to her friends, yknow, classic teen stuff
Soy plopped down on her futon with a smile on her face, Kinito seemed like a nice guy and maybe they could become friends...maybe.
"I loved today.." was the last thing she said before falling asleep on her purple coloured futon.
