It's been a month since Buck's injury from the building collapse and today is his first day back at work on desk and clipboard duty. I can't wait until he meets the new recruit, I love him so much we are partners now since Buck can't do the heavy lifting on calls.
"Tommy, you bought us donuts and coffee? Ooh they are just the way I like it." I walk into the station and grab a glazed donut with no sprinkles, after dropping Christopher off at school since Carla is on her well-deserved vacation.
"Well, I live near a Dunkin' donuts and I got up early for my morning jog, so I thought I'd stop to get the best team in LA breakfast. We all deserve it." Tommy says grabbing his 118 zip up froom Buck's locker since he is the new recruit after all.
"You are the best firefighter ever," Ravi says across the table while stuffing his face with a strawberry-glazed donut.
Ravi is still our probie so he's not quite a firefighter yet.
"Who's the best?" Buck walks into the station wobbling his injured leg with two crutches and clean bandages from the wounds that are healing on his arms.
"Tommy is. He bought us donuts and coffee. Gosh, we should've recruited this guy a long time ago. Buck, how are you feeling?" I ask while grabbing a chocolate glazed donut and handing it to him.
Buck doesn't accept the donut, instead he snatches it from my hand and throws it at Tommy's face.
I can hear Chim and Hen laughing silently behind the table.
Okay, it's kind of funny.
"Cap? You replaced me?!" Buck yells and it seems like he's about to crack.
Tommy stands next to me since he's my new partner at the station and I'm not sure how he's feeling about Buck being back.
Buck glances over at his locker and sees Tommy's uniform and helmet in there. Then, he glances at me and pushes me as hard as he can over towards the food table. I catch myself before I fall onto the table.
