With a funny thought coming to mind, he starts to chuckle which only angers her more and causes her to ask, "what's so funny?"

He was able to stop laughing, though continues to grin while replying, "well I just find it funny that after breaking out of prison and getting chased out of town, I find myself being chased again."

Surprised to hear this, especially the first part, she starts to look at him suspiciously while asking, "wait, why were you in prison?"

After thinking for a moment, he replies, "well when I was originally teleported here, it was into one of the castles broom closets and when I got out, a guard caught me and assuming I was a robber, threw me in jail."

Though she was still a bit suspicious of him, she didn't sense any deceit in his voice, so she decides to believe him while saying, "makes sense."

With another thought coming to mind, he asks, "so what now?"

Confused by the question, Kizuna asks, "what do you mean?"

He replies, "well it's gonna be dark soon and it's probably not safe to stay out here."

Seemingly insulted by this, she simply scoffs at him then says "ha! I expect nothing less from a level 1 adventurer."

Unamused by her comment, he couldn't help but respond, "excuse me! Aren't we both level ones?"

To his surprise, she doesn't get mad but instead starts to grin cheekily while holding up her fishing rod and saying confidently, "but unlike you, I'm a legendary hero, which means I'm better than you."

Annoyed by the comment, he slowly gets to his feet then starts walking away while saying, "fine miss legendary hero, then I don't feel bad about leaving you here alone to fend for yourself."

Finding this funny, she couldn't help but laugh as she gets to her feet and starts walking behind him while saying, "fine by me! I was alone in that labyrinth for God knows how long so spending a night out here is nothing to worry about!"

Amused to hear this, he couldn't help but say, "oh really? Nothing to worry about, eh?"

Still overconfident, she responds, "right! Nothing to worry about!"

In an instant, Burchard comes to a stop then looks back at her while asking, "then why are you following me?"

She does the same then with as innocent of a smile as possible and her hands behind her back, she replies, "I'm not following you! I just happen to be going the same way!"

Not buying what she was saying, he couldn't help but stare at her suspiciously while asking, "oh really? Then where exactly are you going?"

Though she was still smiling, the drop of sweat running down the side of her head kinda gives away her nervousness as she replies, "uh... well uh.... I was just...."

Finally realizing that she was caught, her head drops in defeat while saying, "fine...."

Her head slowly rises and with an innocent smile says, "well since I'm in your party, it would look pretty bad for me to just leave you here, especially when you could easily be attacked with how low your level is."

With an overly confident look, she stands proudly while declaring, "so I have decided to selflessly escort you to where you need to go!!!"

All he could really do was stare blankly back at her since he didn't know what to say but was able to think, "what's up with this chick? She seems kinda full of herself?"

Though as he thought this, he was surprised to see a slight shake in her confident stance which made him realize something while thinking, "or she's just hiding the fact that she's scared..."

After arguing with himself a bit, he finally comes up with something which causes him to sigh in annoyance then looks at her with a smile while saying, "alright, I'd appreciate the protection."

While still standing there confidently, she responds proudly, "I know what you're thinking. How can a beautiful innocent girl like me protect you but...."

It seemed that his words finally clicked, since she started to look at him with confusion while asking, "huh?"

Unfazed by the question, he replies, "I said, I'd appreciate having your protection."

For some strange reason, all she really did was stare blankly at him as if she couldn't comprehend his response until finally she blurts out with glee, "really!"

Caught off guard by the sudden outburst, he looks back at her with surprise while responding, "uh... yeah."

Overjoyed to hear this, she starts to smile brightly while shouting, "alright!"

She points down the dirt road while continuing, "then lead the way!!!"

All he could really do was stare at her with confusion until finally he starts to chuckle a bit then starts walking down the road while saying, "alright, follow me."
