'No need to thank me, dear. I'll see you tomorrow.'
'Ok, bye.'
She smiled brightly when the call ended. She couldn't believe it. She was about to return to the siblings when she felt like something was wrong.
Her smile turned into a frown as she figured out that something was wrong with Jace. She looked up to see Alec walking closer with Izzy.
"Did you feel it too?" She asked him.
"Yeah. Something's wrong with Jace." Alec replied.
"Last I saw him, he was in the library with Antonio." Alyssa said, then began to lead the way there
Library
The three of them entered the library to find it a mess. Papers scattered on the floor as well as some strange shards of glass.
"By the Angel." Izzy softly exclaimed as they walked in further to examine the mess.
"What the hell?" Alec said, approaching the broken glass shards on the floor. He knelt by them and picked up a shard.
"What happened here?" Izzy asked.
Alyssa silently went to the table, which had some scattered papers, books, and a map on it. She looked down at the map to see that it was one of Idris, the Shadowhunter homeland.
Alec looked into the glass shard and sa what looked like a lake.
"Is that a lake?" He questioned. "What are these things?"
"They're portal shards." Alyssa said, making the siblings look at her.
"So Jace, Clary, and Antonio are at this beach?" Alec asked, perplexed. Alyssa shrugged, continuing to look around for more clues.
"Assuming they went through together, but none of it makes sense. How were they able to create a portal inside the Institute?" Izzy said.
Neither of them noticed Robert's appearance in the doorway. "Clearly, it wasn't a normal portal." He said, gaining their attention. "Whatever it was, there was something strange about this portal for the wards not to recognize."
"That's because the wards are attuned to sense only warlock-made portals. Something tells me that the portal had an angelic quality to it, hence why the wards didn't recognize it." Alyssa speculated then looked down at the map on the table. As she studied it, a realization came to her. "I don't think that what you saw in the shards was a beach, guys. I think it's a lake."
"She's right." Robert said, looking down at a shard that Izzy had given him to examine. "It's Lake Lyn." He said, looking to Alyssa, who nodded in agreement. Alec and Izzy were stunned.
"The Lake Lyn? How can you tell?" Alec asked.
"Because Jace requested a portal to Idris this morning. He thought he might have a lead on Valentine. But the Clave denied it." Robert explained.
"Seems like he went anyway." Izzy said.
"Yeah, and Clary helped him." Alyssa said. All three Lightwoods looked at her with questioning looks. "She's the one that made the portal."
"What? How? And how do you know that?" Izzy asked.
"The map of Idris. I can't really explain it, but while I was looking at it just now, I noticed that the length of Lake Lyn spreads into a rune like shape. One that only a pure angel blooded nephilim like Clary can see and use. Like I said, I can't explain it, I just know. I think she saw this and, like always, impulsively drew it and dragged Tony and Jace with her without giving them time to think things through.
