The Walls

Julia.

Cloudy sky, little wind, cool weather, people talking and walking everywhere, others looking at me and waving, others whispering amongst themselves while looking at me, this is just a day being the new executive director of RedBull. As I am the first female director, there are clearly different opinions about me, but I really don't care, besides my work is more important than other people's opinions.

It's only the first race this year and Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz are completely excited, as in pre-training the car ran much better than expected and obviously because Carlos is Max's new teammate.

I enter the team's pit and length everyone, luckily I was warmly received by all of the team and that's a good start, I'm totally confident in what I should do for them.

I'm walking through the pit lane together with some engineers, looking at the grandstand ahead I could already see some fans, several mechanics and engineers from all the teams in their pits and journalists and drivers here and there. As I was walking, I heard Carlos calling me, I looked at him and saw him talking to Max, Charles and Lando, I smiled and then approached them. 

- Hello guys! - I say waving to them.

- Hey! - Max and Charles say together what made them both laugh a little.

- Hello. - Lando say with a tiny smile while look at my face.

- So, guys, here is Julia, the new executive director of RedBull. - Carlos says pointing his arms at me and letting out a light laugh afterwards.

- Nice to meet you, guys. - I smile putting my arms behind me.

Carlos and I are already close, to tell you the truth, I wouldn't be here without him. It's funny to say that I'm here with him because we bumped into each other during a Real Madrid match. Me and him are good friends and our relationship was nothing more than a friendship, even though people started rumors that we were secretly dating.

- Nice to meet you, Julia. - Charles says with a smile making his dimples appear on his face.

- It's a pleasure to meet you - Lando says crossing his arms, not taking his eyes off me. 

We stayed talking for a while until Charles and Lando left. Soon me, Max and Carlos went to our box to talk about strategies for this weekend.
