The night hung heavy over Rose Hills.

It is gorgeous, cold, and cloudy, but also pleasant.

Ethan was looking for a peaceful spot to spend a while by himself, and thus, he found himself roaming down the shore.

During his official visit to Rose Hills, he stayed in a guesthouse alongside a stunning beach with palm trees. There were other reasons too. Rose Hills is renowned for its nostalgia, and whenever he comes here, his entire spirit relaxes.

He works as a journalist. He seeks out fascinating stories, rumors, and mysteries that keep readers engaged from the beginning through the end. For some, this may seem simple. One might think the process of writing is easy.

It's not that hard to get off to a great start, but journaling is more challenging and complicated. Creating a plot that maintains tension and excitement requires intense focus and concentration. The writing approach should be descriptive and intriguing, revealing mysteries and secrets gradually. Anyway, He happens to enjoy his job.

Today, however, was an easy day for Ethan. He simply needed to go over some of the documents he created the day before. His project was completed by noon. Ethan double-checked the paperwork before sending it, as he had more time than had in mind.

He had a brief bath. The water was freezing at a temperature slightly above zero Celsius. He felt refreshed after the icy bath and consequently took a nap.

When he woke up, he realized it was already dark. He knew it was the perfect opportunity for him to take a walk down the beach which he had been craving for a long time. Ethan is a friendly individual, yet he enjoys having some time by himself without people around him all the time.

Going for a stroll after his work is more of a personal interest. His motivation for this exercise is primarily for mental wellness, which may surprise some. Although his physical fitness appears to be in good shape, Ethan is slightly concerned about his emotional well-being.

As a journalist, one may experience limited sleep and rest due to professional demands. Back when he was new to the job he had to travel for days just to get to the area of an investigation. Fortunately, it's not the same now. He had to investigate because he did not meet the requirements to be a writer back then, but now a significant amount of work has been removed from his shoulders.

Therefore his work was tolerable. However, he still required plenty of peaceful time to keep himself charged.

He was walking on the shore when he heard someone sobbing.
