???: Maybe even your mere presence provokes such a reaction from some. (Smirks) Hello Sonic.

Sonic: Huh??? Shadow?? How long have you been on the island? I see you haven't lost your edge. (He added sarcastically.)

Shadow: A signal was received through the communicator that they were active here and the Emeralds are here as well.

Sonic: Oh yeah! Tails managed to reach someone though. I guess that was you.

Shadow: But that's not what's important right now. What the hell was chasing you just now? Who is this girl you seem to have pissed off at yourself? You mentioned Tails, they said you came together, but then he's hool.

Sonic: Well, it's a long story, but in a nutshell...(Sonic recounts his adventure so far, emphasizing the important parts.) 

Shadow So the Doctor really has something to do with what happened here, have you found him?

Sonic: Nope. The girl who wants to remove him is not particularly talkative, maybe she knows where he is.

Shadow: I see you already have an Emerald. (Sonic then takes out the blue Emerald.) Where did you find it? I looked for them everywhere on the previous island, but they were nowhere.

Sonic: Oh? They were there. I found them in locked safes and even got them from Amy.

Shadow: Amy? Did he stay with you too?

Sonic: Sure, but then we were separated. Hey Shadow: Didn't you find some blue glowing gears? I know this is a weird question.

Shadoow: Is that what you mean? (shows Sonic the item he found.) One of the "guests" left it for me after showing his gratitude for my arrival.

Sonic: Oh..They say they like you as much as they like me. (He hands it to her.) Come on, I'll show you what these are good for.

Sonic leads his friend to the next portal, to which the two gears react.

Sonic: It's open.

Shadow: Anyway, how do you know where to go and what's where? I ran for hours on the previous island, and I couldn't find anyone to give me directions.

Sonic: I got a map of the entire Archipelago built into my head after a voice guided me through it and gave me advice on what to do.

Shadow: A tune? What, are you finally going crazy during your time with Eggman?

Sonic: I don't even know who exactly spoke to me. Anyway, let's get keys to the Emeralds.

Shadow: Keys? You mean for the safes?

Sonic: Yeah. Jump in!

Shadow doesn't move, just nods at Sonic.

Sonic: Huh? What's the problem?

Shadow: I tried to go through a similar portal on the previous island, but some strange eergy pushed me out of it. I can't go in.

Sonic: Oh...That's weird, the portal lets me in without any issue. In that case-(Sonic tosses the emerald to his partner.)

Shadow: Huh? Don't you need it?

Sonic: You better have it.  Use it to find the next emerald. We should meet after I'm done.

Shadow: Hmph.. (Sonic jumped into the portal.)

Shadow thought about what he heard, then looked at the existing emerald and smiled.

Shadow: Finally. This will make my job easier to search the rest. (He closed his eyes and then-)
