Death.
5 letters.
One word.
The one thing almost everyone fears.
The fear of losing those you love, but at the same time losing yourself.
Death has so many different meanings, but to me, death isn't goodbye, its an "I'll see you again someday"

"Addy? Addison sweetie? C'mon! We're going to be late for our flight!" called my exasperated mother.
We were at the airport in Los Angeles, California, running as fast as we could to make our flight to London, our new home.
My mother had gotten a job in London and had immediately accepted it.
I was 18, soon to be going to college.
Most girls my age in California would be devestated to have to move to another country and leave their friends and life behind.
This I didn't have to worry about.
I didn't have any friends.
I was always a social outcast. That girl who was basically invisible to the remainder of the school body. Never noticed, never seen.
Not that I minded.
I wasn't estatic to be moving to London. But then again I wasn't devastated. I took this simply as a way to start over. Maybe even make a couple friends.
"ALL REMAINING PASSENGERS FOR FLIGHT 479 TO LONDON, ENGLAND PLEASE BOARD NOW, THIS IS THE LAST CALL FOR ALL PASSENGERS TRAVELING ON FLIGHT 479 TO LONDON, ENGLAND" announced an airport agent.
I grabbed my suitcase and made my way to the boarding area, as my mother did the same.
Well. Here's to 11 boring hours on an airplane.

After landing

We had just landed in London and so far the only thing I had gathered about this new city was that it was cold.
Freezing cold.
Well I guess it IS December so that would make sense.
I wrapped my jacket tighter against my body as my mother and I made our way out of the airport.
About twenty minutes, a smelly cab, and a tipped over suitcase later, we finally had arrived at our new house.
It was, to put it simply, gorgeous.
It was a two-story house with stone lining the front. A two car garage could be seen from where I was standing.
The inside was just as breathtaking.
A grand staircase led up to the second floor and the high ceilings added an extra ounce of delicacy.
None of our possessions had arrived yet aside from what we brought with us.
I wandered about the nearly empty (aside from the furniture, which the previous owners had left behind) house, trying to find some good places where I could read or have some alone time.
I wandered through all of the rooms, but only one stood out to me. It was upstairs, and had the oddest layout. It was a pretty large room, but the odd part was, it had a couple steps leading up to a bed. There was a large window with a cute, quaint window bench near it. I knew this was the room I wanted.
As I was looking around, I noticed a hallway with a dim light at the end. As I neared, I discovered a large lounge area. Two large sliding glass doors opened up to the backyard. As I stood inside, admiring the cute layout of the backyard, my mother came up behind me.
"Addison, I know this is a big thing. To move all the way to another country. It's a big step. But I want you to enjoy it here. I trust you so much Addy."
I was confused by her little speech. What did she mean?
She continued, "I want you to take the car and go spend the rest of the day sightseeing. Get to know the city! I, myself, am going to start getting the house set up. The movers just arrived with our boxes."
"Really? Thank you so much!" I replied happily.
I couldn't wait to explore the foreign city.
"Alright dear, just be careful and I trust you to make the right decisions. Please try to be home by 6." my mother responded.
"Thanks mom!" I gave her a kiss on the cheeck and bounded outside to my mother's old mustang.
Today seemed like a pretty great day.
