Gabriel

It's a new school and I have no idea what to expect.

Back home, my school was very small, and I knew everyone. This new school, however, has over 2,500 kids, and I have over 600 students in my senior class alone.

I'm not complaining. It's just made it a bit more difficult for me to acclimate.

Everyone seems to have their people in all of my classes, and the school year has just begun.

I'm in 6th period right now, and Mr. Grene is going on about something I learned last year as I look out the window. This school seems to be behind, so I know I won't have a hard time learning the material.

Since I am a senior, I have an early release, so as soon as that bell rings, I'm gone.

The first thing I did when I moved was look for a place I can box. I found myself at the local rec center. They have a free gym where I can train. The gym is just a small part of it, though. They have trampolines and a skate park and a rock wall, so there are people of all ages here.

The gym is located at the very front of the building, so it's the first thing you walk through. I immediately feel at ease here because I know everything I need to about what I do and there is nothing that can get lost in translation. No talking, just boxing.

I am getting ready in the mens bathroom/locker room. I change into my black compression shirt and gray sweats and put my earbuds in. Just as I'm about to walk out, 3 little boys run past me, almost running into me.

"Excuse me!" The youngest says, I would say he looks about 5 or 6. They are all giggling at something. Though I have no idea what.

Just as I turn the corner to exit, I collide with a girl, about my age, knocking her to the ground.

"Woah, are you okay?"

It's been a lot harder than I thought I would be to start this so please just be patient with me as I get used to it.💕
