Light filtered through your curtians and you groaned. It was morning, and you honestly didn't want to do anything.
Nevertheless, you promised yourself you would walk around today to get familiar with the area, it would be embarrassing when school started and you wouldn't know how to get home.
You kicked your covers off and sat up, rubbing your eyes. You got up and got dressed, deciding on a plain black shirt and a white skirt. You brushed your (h/l) (h/c) hair and teeth before slipping on some shoes. You threw your wallet and apartment keys in your small bag and slung it over shoulder. You grabbed your phone before venturing out into the lobby and out into the busy streets.
You paused and looked around. 'Tokyo is huge,' you thought. You has no idea where to go, so you just decided to start walking, following the crowd through the giant metropolis.
--Time Skip: 2:03pm--
Tokyo is beautiful! You are careful to not wander too far from your apartment, but you still found lots of cute shops and even a nice little park. Things were going great until..
Drip...drip drip drip!
You glanced at the sky, it was starting to sprinkle. You groaned and looked around. You were a few blocks away from your apartment and didn't want to get stuck outside if it turned into a downpour. You started walking, covering your head with your hands mumbling under your breath. You passed a corner when a small shop caught your eye.
"Anteiku.." You read the sign out loud. It looked like a cafe or coffee shop. 'Perfect, I can have a snack while I wait for the rain to pass!'
You open the door and looked around. The place had a comforting atmosphere and the smell of freshly ground coffee excited your senses. You spotted an empty booth next to the window and decided to sit there, placing your bag next to you.
You looked around again once more, the place looked a little busy today. You looked out the window and watched the rain while you waited, daydreaming. You were so lost in your own world that you didn't even noticed your server!
"Um, miss? Hello?" A voice pulled you from your thoughts and you turned to see who was talking to you.
It was a boy, he looked around your age. You studied him for a moment. He wore black pants and a white button up with a vest, the same as the other employees. His hair was black and he had the most stunning grey eyes, although one was covered with an eye patch. He looked so innocent, almost like a child. You felt your heart flutter. He was a cutie, that's for sure.
"Ah, I'm sorry, w-what?," you stuttered.
"What can I get for you?" He smiled shyly.
You blinked. "Just a (drink) please.." You replied.
You watched him write down your order and noticed the light blush that tinted his cheeks. "Your order will be ready shortly!" He gave one last small smile before carrying on with his work.
You sat there for a moment, letting things process in your head. You had just ordered a nice beverage from a nice boy, why did it feel like your heart was going to explode? Why did you stutter? And why was he blushing??
You looked out the window again, it was poring rain now.
'Looks like I'm going nowhere anytime soon,' you thought to yourself and sighed. Damn you for not bringing an umbrella.
A few minutes later, you spotted the eyepatch kid coming from the back room with a drink. You watched him as he set the mug down. You could tell by his facial expression that he wanted to say something, but you didn't know what.
"Thank you very much..um...I'm sorry I don't know your name.." You looked away.
"Kaneki! I mean, Kaneki Ken," he scratched the back of his neck and laughed a little at his fast reply. "What's yours?"
"(f/n) (l/n)," you looked back at him and held your drink in your hand. "Thank you Kaneki-kun." You smiled.
You catch him blushing again and he just nods. He leaves you to yourself and continues with his work while you sat there grinning like an idiot.
'Kaneki Ken. I'm looking forward to my next visit.' You sipped on your drink and watched the rain again, slowly falling back into your own world once again.

Some stuff I should mention: This story will be a bit slow for the first few chapters, the build up will be worth it though. Bear with me I'm trying LOL
ALSO for the most part, this story won't completely follow the original storyline. Some things may remain the same, other things I will tweak to fit this story. You'll see later what I mean it's not a big deal.
