SS, who was also awake and coordinating from her quarters, had already checked in on KS multiple times through the security cameras. Meanwhile, CC who was on night duty, is texting PJ with updates every hour. HM knows that tonight, none of her family were going to get any sleep. And yet again, she hated the fact that she was on this painful mission and not there to help them.
_
After that day, KS got extra careful and extra stressed about everything. She agreed to Urmi's idea for the case but sent CC and SS with her everywhere. Not being able to help her any other way, HM tried to at least find a way to solve this case and relieve some of that stress for her.
On the bright side, spending some time with her Cheetosh allowed her to at least cheer them up.
HM missed her little siblings even while being next to them. Because while they looked fine on the surface, HM had noticed that they hadn't laughed or smiled properly the whole time she'd been there. SS who was always excitable and carefree was constantly distracted and worried all the time. And CC who was everyone's support and always so sure of his duty and his love; he had lost all his confidence and grown insecure. It was like, with losing their Haseena Di, they had also lost a part of their innocence.
While working on the case, HM figured that if she bothered them enough, at least with Urmi, they could speak freely. They could open up to her and say stuff that they normally wouldn't tell KS or even HM. And it made her immeasurably happy when to some extent, Urmi could see them slowly starting to talk back to her and stand up for themselves.
HM knew that she had so many things to apologize for. So many mistakes to make up for. So many promises to mend and keep. But as Urmi, she wanted to at least try and lessen the hurt of those broken promises she made to her family.
"Safedi ki chamkaar, mein kya bolti hai." Urmi calls out after they are done placing the camera and setting the plan. Santu gives her an annoyed look and she smiles widely at her cute little pout. "Sun na. Abhi yahan agaye hain, toh chal kuch chaat waat khate hai."
Urmi wiggles her eyebrows in suggestion. It was fun for her to bother her little sister like this, but more than that, HM wanted Santu to have fun too. To hang out with her and spend the day together like before.
Except, something about the suggestion seemed to have the opposite effect on SS. And her mood darkens.
"Nahi, aap khaiye, mujhe bhook nahi hai." Santu dismisses the idea without a thought. Her voice firm enough that both Cheeta and HM find it odd.
"Chaat ke liye bhook thori chahiye. Woh toh chaska hai. Chal na." Urmila insists again, trying to lighten her mood. Then, thinking she might be more comfortable with CC around, Urmi offers him too, "Chikne tu bhi chal."
Cheeta gives her an irritated look and she smiles widely again. It was fun for her to bother her little brother like this too.
"Nahi, hum duty pe hai." Again, Santu's strong denial surprises them both, but she doesn't seem to notice. "Aapko chahiye toh Cheeta aapke liye chaat le aiga. Kyu cheete?"
"Santu ji?" Cheeta looks at her with concern. He can tell that something is wrong but before he can ask, Urmi tries again.
"Kya duty duty. Acha theek hai. Abhi mein Haseena Mallik hai. Toh mein teri senior." Urmi was determined to get her to loosen up. If they hung out and talked, maybe Santu would tell her what was wrong, HM figured and switched her voice to speak to her little sister directly.
"Santosh Sharma, aap humare saath chaat khane chalein gi and that's an order."
The reaction was sudden, but not the one they were expecting to see.
