And she also denies maybe, possibly, secretly damaging the jeep, so they would have to squeeze in the auto together.

The only thing she doesn't deny is that the best feeling of the day was when they were arguing and HM was sure that KS didn't care to hear a word she was saying. But then KS turned to look at her, with an incredibly adorable inquisitive expression and just said,

"Tumne abhi 'mukhtasar' kaha."

And suddenly, HM's heart fluttered. KS had caught her slip of tongue and called her out for using Urdu.

And of course, Urmi could easily explain it this time because KS had seen her with Ghalib and she had asked Cheeta for Gulzar. But this little moment proved to HM that despite not reacting to her efforts all day, KS still paid attention to all her actions and all her words.

KS looked away after that, again not listening. But HM knew she was pretending this time. She smiled knowing that her grumpy KS cared about her. Because simply put, as selfless as HM was with everyone and everything else, when it came to her Kashi and her Kashi's love, care, attention, and affection, HM was shamelessly selfish. She wanted all of it only for herself.

KS nearly cries when they lose the lead to the killers.

The pest control guys that came to MPT had to be the ones that killed HM and they had come to hurt Urmi now. The sheer anger KS felt when she realized it was burning her from the inside.

PJ and SS looked devastated. They knew that they had a lapse of judgment when they let those people in without checking but realizing that they might've been HM's killers, the guilt was eating them up. On the other side, CC looked so upset and conflicted because he couldn't give them any comfort, nor could he do anything to help his Karishma Di, who was breaking down right in front of them.

And watching all this, HM stood helplessly. As worried as she was about the case, her heart shattered hearing KS sound so broken.

To anyone else, KS was simply angry and upset at the missed lead, but HM knew her better than anyone.

HM knew that more than anything, KS felt scared and worried and guilty. She wasn't surprised that KS blamed herself. Because even if she scolded PJ and SS for their mistake, HM knew that in the end, KS would take all the responsibility.

That was the one habit of her love that HM didn't like. Her selfless Kashi always wanted to protect her loved ones, and if anything happened to them, she took it as a personal failure even when she couldn't have done anything to stop it. And in this moment, watching KS slowly lose herself in her negative thoughts, HM hated that habit even more because she couldn't do anything to comfort her.

That night, KS didn't come home.

Urmi couldn't leave to go check on her because outside their room PJ wasn't sleeping either. Her own guilt and worry for KS didn't allow PJ to rest. She kept pacing the hall and alternating between checking her phone and staring at the clock. And her restlessness meant that HM couldn't sneak past her to leave. Especially when everyone was extra careful about Urmi's safety after today.

At some point after midnight, after pacing inside the room for a few hours, Urmila couldn't take it anymore. She needed to know if KS was okay. That she was safe.

She stumbles out of the room, pretending to be half asleep and looking for water. Doing her best to sleep acting, she somehow casually manages to ask PJ where her Chatak Chandani was, trying very hard to not sound too worried.

PJ is too preoccupied to notice her odd behavior and simply tells her what she knows.

And HM breathes a deep sigh of relief to know that KS was safe and at the thana.
