Poem #1 - Freedom/Leaves

Sometimes, when the wind is swirling,

Blowing, gusting, puffing, whirling,

The leaves are carried off the trees

And float along in the crisp, cool breeze.

And so they fly, away from home,

Finding many places where creatures roam

Across the land, and across the sea,

The leaves, finally, are free.

They get carried around the world,

And see many mysteries unfurled.

They discover many things great and grand,

Until, once and for all, they land.

Poem #2 - Dawn

Dawn.

Birds chirp.

The sun in the sky, even though

It's cold outside.

Even though

It's the only one awake.

When the sun comes up,

There is no one there to see.

No one there to see the colors.

The sun and its beauty,

Together as one,

The sparkling dawn,

The sun and the sky.

With no one

There

To see.
