Y/N POV
I watched as customers walked around looking for what shoes to get,miguel was behind the register ringing people out.
We kept exchanging looks,holding onto eye contact for longer than a minute until a customer would catch our attention.
I felt my phone begin to vibrate in my pocket,i quietly pulled it out seeing it was Lexi calling.I looked up at miguel who was finally free
"Hey Mikey,Lexi is calling and it can be Daniel" I told him as I walked up,I didn't know the phone rules.he nodded with a soft smile
"Oh yeah no problem,go ahead in the back to take it" he says,I nodded before walking into the back while placing the phone against my ear
"Hey Lexi,everything okay?" I heard laughter in the background,Daniel's laugh making me smile
"Hey,I wanted to ask if it's cool that I get Daniel some pizza? I'm hungry and he said he is too" she says
"Lexine" I called
"What? He's okay,I'll watch him chew and I'll make sure he sallows" I scoffed as I shook my head,I placed my hand on my forehead
"His teeth are still growing in,please be careful" I told her,she chuckled
"I got you baby,love you" she says
"Love you,bye" I hung up before placing my phone back in my pocket,she's always spoiling him.I walked back out to the floor
Miguel glanced over,he told a customer to hold a moment before making his way over to me "everything okay with the boy?" He asks
"Yeah,Lexi just asked to give him pizza.I thought something bad happened to him" I said,
"Ah okay,well it's fine.You're a mother so we know you have to answer calls for you kid,Martin isn't a complete asshole" he stated making me giggle
"Thanks mikey,i might have to call her later though cause I need a ride home" I told him,his eyebrows raised
"I don't mind taking you home,what's wrong with your car?" I figured he would offer which is sweet but I didn't want to bother
"My brother had to take it to the shop,I think the oil has to be changed" I told him
I hated that he offered me before and I rejected him about it and now I'm getting my karma,it wouldn't be terrible if miguel drives me home.
He could tell me to go fuck myself right now if he wanted to,I'm not forcing him either
"Oh alright well,I can bring you home if you'd let me" he softly spoke,I sighed
"Yeah I'll appreciate that" his face lighten up "don't think about walking me to my door though" he chuckled
"Sure but I'll still watch you walk away" he smirked before walking back to the customer,i cleared my throat to snap out of my dirty thoughts
Why am I getting them for some reason? I haven't known miguel for even a month yet,I can't let him get the wrong idea.I'm not ready for this
TIME SKIP
It was closing time,i sweep before miguel mops and Thomas restocks the best he can.We all make sure we do our parts since there's cameras that Martin watches constantly
If we end up doing something against the rules or we aren't allowed to do,he tells us the next time he sees us or he messages us about it since he goes by the books
I walked into the back to grab my things,I put on my jacket and zipped it up before I heard the door open again showing miguel.
"Hey" he says with a light smile as he grabbed his sweater,I gave him the same smile as a response "remember I'm taking you home with me"
I scrunched my face "oh shit,that sounds wrong.I-I meant was I'm taking you home in the same car with me,obviously you know that and I'm being a dumbass"
I chuckled while shaking my head "don't worry about it,I knew what you meant " I said with a reassuring smile
He nervously laughed before pushing his hair back away from his face,Thomas then walked in "Yo mikey can you drop me off?" He asked
Miguel sighed "I can't,I'm dropping off y/n and your house is far-don't you always take a Uber?"
"Yeah but I'm trying to save up,come on bro1
"Tom I said no,why are you always nagging me? I'm just tryna take the girl home okay?" Miguel snapped as he raised his voice,Thomas scoffed before walking back out
"You know it's okay to drop him off when you drop me off-
"No no,he's far and I just want to make sure you're home safe to your boy" he tells me while placing his hand on my arm
I raised a brow
TIME SKIP
Miguel placed his arm on the back of my car seat as he looked behind to back out,I watch his hand move the steering wheel.
I noticed the veins that were visible in his hand,I placed my tongue against my inner cheek to hold my hormones that I know would get out of control
This doesn't happen with any guy but with Miguel,it feels completely different but I'm still not gonna waste his time if I know I can't do anything
My phone vibrated once again,I looked seeing Lexi texted "Daniel is asleep" I muttered.Miguel hummed
"Poor boy got tired waiting for his mama" he commented while moving his eyes onto the road in front of him
"I have off tomorrow,do you?" He asked,I shook my head
"I don't which is good because me and Lexi are planning on going out to this new club that opened up,it looks great" I said,his eyebrows dropped
"Oh..that's nice" he says as he adjusted him in his seat,I ignored his mood changed "so who's gonna take care of Daniel?"
"I was thinking on asking my neighbor.I would've asked my brothers but they're gonna be doing their stupid thing with their friends so I'm not gonna bother" I say now starting to stress about it
I sighed as miguel stopped at a red light,he turned to me "hey..uh I can take care of him for you" he said.My eyes slightly opened
"Wait really?" I asked in shock,his lips slowly formed into a smile
"Yeah why not? The kid already likes me and I'm off so I don't mind looking after him" I gasped before wrapping my arms around him
"Oh thank you mikey,Thank you so much" I pulled away keeping my hands on him "this means a lot,how much do you want me to charge you?"
He chuckled "don't worry chula,ill do it for free" he says,I grinned "for Daniel and..for you"
