House Morningstar is a noble lineage that dwells close to perpetual storms and thunder. The rationale behind their choice of location is that the Morningstars are Vampires, supernatural beings who are unable to tolerate sunlight. However, they possess a unique ring that enables them to navigate through illuminated areas when necessary. Lucius Morningstar, a prominent member of this family, is considered a pioneer of his kind, embodying various exceptional qualities. Among his many interests, he particularly relishes in the nurturing of dragons, having witnessed Aegon's conquest of the 7 Kingdoms. Furthermore, he has observed the reign of every Targaryen, earning the Immortal a profound admiration from the Targaryen dynasty.
Lucius, being the sole individual of his kind, was sought after by the Targaryens to establish an alliance. They attempted to arrange marriages between their daughters and him, yet he consistently declined. He firmly believes that there is a destined soulmate for him, and regardless of the duration, he is willing to patiently await their arrival.
He accomplished precisely that, although it required a considerable amount of time, he eventually encountered the one. Irene was her name. She found it astonishing why His Highness took an interest in her. Their paths crossed when Lucius embarked on his evening hunt, intending to make her his initial prey until an unexpected surge of emotions halted him. This sudden pause caught Irene's attention, leaving her both startled and apprehensive, fully aware of his true nature.
Lucius observed the fear reflected in her eyes, assuring her that he harbored no intentions of causing harm. Irene, in turn, discerned the sincerity within his gaze and thus commenced their tale.
As Irene's love for Lucius Morningstar deepened, her doubts began to surface. Being a commoner without any royal status, she had grown up tending to farms and gardens, with no lands or wealth to her name. Hence, she couldn't fathom why a King and a lord like Lucius would exhibit any form of interest or affection towards someone of her humble background.
"Lucius, why choose me?" She inquired, while they rested amidst a picturesque meadow adorned with vibrant Geranium flowers. Lucius had deliberately cultivated these blossoms in the sunniest spot, ensuring their flourishing growth.
Lucius maintained his gaze on Irene, perplexed by her query. "What do you mean, my dear?"
"Why me? Why choose to love me? I don't have any royal status...I'm just a commoner, how can someone like you be with someone like me." She asked, now sitting up. Lucius also sat up and took a deep breath.
"Since my heart chose you, my immortal existence has been devoid of any heartbeat. It's because I'm dead, you see." He chuckled, while Irene smiled at her beloved. "But I always knew that if I ever found my soulmate, my heart would start racing and I would feel alive once more." He gently held Irene's hand and showered it with tender kisses, gazing into her eyes to express his deep love for her. "Ever since I met you, Irene, I've never felt more alive. You bring me immense happiness, and I will forever treasure you for that." With those words, he sealed his affection with a kiss on her luscious lips.
That's where the story begins, they've gotten married and Irene has been turned into a vampire. Lucius dreaded the process, he fed her his blood, and for the transition to start he had to kill her.
"It's okay love, I'll come back to you," Irene reassured her husband, giving him a soft smile.
With one quick movement, her body fell to the floor but before that could happen Lucius held onto her body waiting.
Those couple of hours were terrible for him not knowing if she'd wake up, but she did. Her once green eyes were now blood red, her skin extra flawless and pale.
She looked beautiful.
The Queen was adored by her people for her kindness towards them, just like the King who had never let them down. They were well aware of their worth and the strength of their Kingdom, with a powerful King and Queen at the helm. Their realm was truly extraordinary.
Both Lucius and Irene were in shock to find out that they were expecting a child. Lucius always thought that his kind could never father children, he was scared of what this could mean for his wife.
Irene's pregnancy wasn't easy, with her belly growing big, and pains throughout her back. Just like a normal pregnancy, though delivery was let's say interesting.
"Push your grace," the midwives say
"I'm fucking trying" Irene yells out, the pain was unbearable but once her baby started crying she was filled with happiness.
"A boy your majesty" The midwife cleaned up the prince and handed him to his mother.
"Oh my baby, you look just like your father" Irene whispered, looking down at her firstborn child with such love. Since she's been with her immortal husband and being one herself she except that she wouldn't be able to have children but now here she is holding her son.
Lucius came storming into their chambers. "How are you darling, are you okay, is our baby okay?" He panted, worried that the birth went wrong.
"Come, my love, it's our son," she said, smiling towards her husband. Lucius takes a step closer to see his firstborn child. In an instant, he's in love.
This was his child, he's finally a father. He has a family now. "How should we name him, you chose since you went through it all my love."
"Well, I was thinking Alastor, Alastor Morningstar" Irene replied, smiling down towards her son.
"Alastor Morningstar" Lucius repeated, "That's a perfect name for a future King"
The entire Kingdom rejoiced at the birth of the Prince. The neighboring Kingdoms gathered to offer their congratulations to the esteemed royals. While the Targaryens displayed the most enthusiasm, they were delighted that their dear friends had finally found happiness in starting their own family, fully aware of their longing for this moment. Neither family could have anticipated that they would eventually be united.
