03: Bash and Declan

"Boys, enough and please refrain from saying balls in front of the tweleve year old child." He put emphasis on child. Adellai was not a child. She was going to be a teenager in july.

That's practically an adult.

"Lets eat, yes?" Declan smiled and lifted the cover from the mystery dish "Adellai I heard you liked Risotto, so i asked the Chef to make it especially for you" Adellais lips thinned in embarrassment "You...you didn't have to do that"

"Oh nonsense! The italian in us loves a good risotto once in a while!" She smiled lightly at that. "Thank you."

Her mother was actually the one who was fond of Italian food, specifically Risotto but she would only indulge herself whenever Adellai or her father wanted to eat it for dinner. That is why Adellai eated it as much as possible.

Truth be told, Adellai liked Chinese food more. Especially Mapo Tofu. She could eat it from breakfast, lunch, and dinner and never get tired. But she was too shy to correct them now, and she didn't want to overstep.

She began to reach for the dish to take some out for herself but her plate was snatched from her. The culprit was Oliver, she looked at him confused. Did he not have a plate of his own? No, he did. Maybe he just didn't want Adellai to eat. She supposed she could go hungry for one night, it's not like it would be anything new- oh.

He was taking out food for her. He took out a small portion, fit for a tweleve year old, and placed it infornt of her. She looked at him with slightly furrowed eyebrows and he said "You wouldn't have been able to reach it."

Its true, She wouldn't have been able to. She noticed that the dining table was pretty wide. How considerate of him.

She waited for the rest to begin eating, and then she took the first bite. It was a good Risotto. Not better then her moms though.

"So Adellai, I hope you're making yourself at home, did you like your room? Feel free to change the decor if you feel like it. Go to Gabriel if you feel like ordering decor online." Declan said with a homey smile on his face.

"No... no it's fine. The room is very beautiful" She reassured. Though it probably didn't look very reassuring with the way she hesitated.

She assumed Declan was just being polite.

They settled into an awkward silence once again.

Declans eyes zereod in on his husband. Sebastian kept glancing towards his sister. It was honestly quite adorable. His confident, stoic and grumpy husband having trouble initiating conversation with a 12 year old.

"So Adellai, do you have any hobbies?" Declan tried desperately to keep the conversation going for the sake of his husband.

Oh how he loved that man.

"I um surfed alot. It was my favourite pass time" The poor girl had trouble holding eye contact.

"Oh? Well i'm sure we can make occasional trips to our beach house once in a while, especially during summer vacations, right Bash?" He glanced at his husband.

"Yes ofcource." Yes Declan Loved the man but sometimes his one word responses could be extremely infuriating.

On the other hand, all Addy wanted to do was die of embarrassment. Or maybe mortification. She wanted to die of alot of ugly emotions right now. She was not used to making small talk.

Declan glared at his husband, but Sebastian was more intrested in looking at his sister. The formers gaze softened. Even though his brothers were infuriating, Declan couldn't stand the thought of not being able to see or talk to them for more then a week let alone for almost two decades.

Declan was still looking at his husband when he took in a deep breath and exhaled. Yes! He was finally initiating conversation!

"Adellai i would like to speak with you in my office after dinner. Gabriel will show you the way after you freshen up" Sebastian stated in a cold, monotone voice. The voice he used as a boss.

The girl visibly damn neared pissed herself.

Declan felt his left eye twitch. Sometimes it was surprising that this is the same person who came from nothing and built a Tech Empire.

Sorry for the late update. My mocks are happening and then my Olevels. Some would say this was a rather stupid time to start writing a book, but im not exactly known for managing my time correctly seeing as im currently procrastinating studying for economics and maths.
