The Only Exception

Start from the beginning

- Wait, you think I am. - I said in disbelief. - Rose, I'm not that kind of person. I have it in my mind that your thoughts about me are quite wrong.

- Rose. - we turned in time when we heard Dong-hae calling her.

He beckoned her over and it was the first time I'd been irritated by Dong-hae, I wanted to end that conversation.

- I promised to sing with him. - she said nervously.

Now I was completely flustered.

- You promised to sing with him knowing that I'm here? I didn't think you wanted to sing for me.

- He insisted, you make me nervous Lisa.

- This moment will come one day, show them what you can do.

She stared at me again and stared at the stage, staring at me again before climbing onto it and going to the back with Dong-hae. And I thought that night was just going to be another one.

I wanted to be alone there, and since Rose refused to sing just for me, I pretended that it was really just the two of us.

I understood what she meant when she said that I made her nervous, I couldn't control my critical look that was already part of me when it came to music but she didn't understand what it meant? it meant the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard.

Jennie sat down next to me, I had prepared a mini concert and set up comfortable chairs for everyone to sit on.

- Who's the girl? - Brandon asked curiously.

- She's at the record label, I think she's practicing. - Min-ji answered. - What would make Dong-hae invite her to sing?

- Rose is my guest. - I said, getting looks from both of them.

- Just listen, you'll understand. - Jennie added and everyone turned to look forward.

Rose sat on the raised bench and Dong-hae stood next to her.

She put her hand up to the microphone as if it was a custom and she did it all the time.

The guitarist began to play the song that I soon recognized as one of the most beautiful songs anyone could have written. And by coincidence it fitted in very well with what Rose was causing in my life.

Dong-hae began to sing alone, closing his eyes and feeling what the lyrics were saying.

When I was younger I saw my daddy cry, and curse at the wind

He broke his own heart and I watched as he tried to reassemble it

It started out light and weightless, his voice bringing an inexplicable peace that was very comfortable and good to listen to.

And my momma swore that she would
Never let herself forget

And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love if it does not exist

Rose was staring at some empty spot at the back of my room, she couldn't face anyone, I wanted her to look at me, I wanted to feel that she was singing to me for the first time.

Bug, darling, you are the only exception

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

He repeated the phrases, changing his tone and in the chorus he wasn't taking it so easy anymore, raising his voice in a perfect way.

Again, the guitar made its presence felt and Dong-hae looked at Rose who was still staring into the void, the time had passed for her to get into the song and she was still silent until she looked at me at the end.
