School was out, signified by the loud bell that rang during the last period of the day.

River made her way to Steve's car as quickly as possible, the second her foot hit the hallways it was as if the party blurred in together from different classes.

Mike, Max, Dustin, Will and Lucas all surrounded one another as they walked in a group, Max holding Lucas' hand as Mike quietly held his binder.

He was so focused on just hanging out with El, and as he thought about biking to Hopper's, Andy came from behind - scaring him and earning a groan.

"Dude - " Mike began, shrugging his shoulders away from Andy, though Andy now took his spot next to River, smiling down at her - and taking her books from her hands to hold on top of his.

"Ready?" He spoke, as they exited the school doors, and as the others talked - Mike glanced over.

"For what?"

He quirked a brow, eyeing Andy carefully.

"Party at Mccan's? Didn't you hear about it?"

Mike only gave a blank stare, and Andy continued. "Ah, well at the beginning of every summer - he usually throws one. We're high schoolers now, so - it's clear to go."

Now everyone glanced over, Lucas nodding frantically as Mike glanced to River, a small subtle look of panic. "And you're going?"

"Mhm." River nodded, holding her backpack straps as she looked up to Andy.

"Why don't we all go? We can all get a ride from my friends."

"We're good." Mike scowled. "You have fun though." Now, he looked back to the group, and they stood silently, Dustin and Will nodding.

"Are you coming to the campaign?" Will asked, looking to River. Now Mike turned again, he was counting on the fact that she would.

"Wasn't invited." She gave a shrug, glancing to Mike. "I'm going with Andy tonight, sorry Will."

"You didn't invite her?" Will whispered to Mike, and he cursed himself quietly - shaking his head.

Murmurs from the group came, and Andy waited patiently before nodding to Lucas and Max, who were interested in attending. "Dress accordingly!" He perked up, hands in his pocket.

That same night, River changed into her favorite denim skirt, and her favorite green sweater. She curled her short hair, fixing it up every five seconds until a knock at her window signaled that it was time to go.

Andy Morris kneeled there, holding his hand out as River opened up her window, climbing out along with him, and taking his hand.

Steve was gone tonight, and River never spoke to her parents so sneaking this way was better.

The car was loud, filled up and Andy was crammed in the back middle seat, sending smiles to River and yelling to her over the loud, loud music.

"You look great!" He nodded, fixing his light brown hair.

River gave a smile, he looked great too but she had no desire to yell that right now. He wore his blue medium wash jeans, and his striped, white and green collared shirt. It was almost as if they'd matched on purpose.
