"Bye Claire."
"Oh is your shift finished Y/N?" the nurse behind the desk asked curiously.
Nodding with a tired smile my feet pulled me towards the elevator, the ache in my body crept into my bones after the 9 hour shift. Stepping out of the elevator and into the lobby I noticed everyone rushing around and spoke to the first person I saw "hey, what's going on?"
They barely looked at me "there are three massive ships falling out of the sky!"
I rushed out the front doors and looked up, burning metal and debris was falling into the water and people were running away or into the hospital. Scanning the area I saw him, he was in a fully black tactical suit his long brown hair covering his eyes.
He was on his hands and knees, before I could think against it my body was pulling me towards this man.
"Excuse me sir? Are you okay? Do you need help to the hospital?"
He looked up at me and I froze as his beautifully icy blue eyes looked into my own E/C eyes. His eyebrows scrunched together, confused though I wasn't sure why then he struggled to stand and pulled me to his side. I hissed as something sharp pierced my side and he growled lowly "fix me."
I tried to turn back to the hospital but he urged me to face the other way, "not the hospital?" He shook his head once and started moving "do you have somewhere to go?" Again he shook his head once and my stomach dropped, I felt sick and my ramblings got worse as I took over the route, "my house? It's not that great and there's no privacy you don't want us to go there, besides it's a long walk to my car... You can't walk that far in this condition!"
"Walk."
My heartbeat was punching against my ribcage as we started the 8 minute walk to my car, I couldn't stop my mouth for splurging out words "it's- I only just moved here a couple of months ago I don't know any other way and it's cheaper then the hospital parking and do you not think it'd be better to just go back, I only have a few things at my place. You look a lot more injured please let me take you back, no one will even know you're there."
He didn't even look at me as I rambled on about how it'd be best if we went to the hospital as we walked next to the lake to my car. When we arrived I started to reach for my bag when the pain in my side got sharper and I glared at him against my better judgment "I've got to get my keys or we can't get in my car and then we can't get to my house so..."
He stepped back slightly, untrusting as I reached into my bag and pulled out my keys decked out with different key rings. I cursed as my shaking hands fumbled with the key of my pale yellow mini Cooper until it clicked open. Slipping into the drivers side I tensed as he got in behind me the knife at my side again but it didn't pierce skin.
It took roughly 25 minutes with traffic to get securely parked in my garage. Blowing out a shaky breath and slowly getting out I walked into my home, the man following close behind me. I dumped my bag and keys on my kitchen counter and moved him into the spare bathroom where I kept my first aid kit.
I ushered him to sit on the bare counter top while opening the kit and asking "what hurts?"
His face was a steel mask as he said in a monotone voice "I broke my forearm; my left ankle is sprained and there is a wound on my right thigh with minimal bruising and cuts all over."
To say I was shocked was an understatement, it was like a checklist he had said many times. "Okay I need you to help me take off your clothes- Not get naked of course but I need to access the areas."
He barely reacted to my ramblings once again, instead helping as I gently pulled off his shoes, socks, jacket and shirt then pants, leaving him in nothing but his underwear.
Straight after pulling his pants off I grabbed a clean towel to push against the wound on his thigh gushing blood, it was a wonder he was still awake. I looked into his empty eyes "relax and try not to yell I have neighbours."
He surprisingly did as I said and relaxed against the cool mirror, letting me get to work. I stitched his thigh then cleaned it but before I could wrap it I asked, "would you like a shower to clean off the dirt and blood? Before I wrap the bandages on you."
I could see confusion strewn across his face, so I moved to the side and turned on the tap, making sure the water was warm before moving to leave. My breath got caught in my throat when he ground out "stay."
I nodded and faced away from him as he stepped in the shower, starting to clean the counter as I spoke. "There's soap and shampoo and conditioner, cherry blossom and roses which may not be your usual go to but it's all I have..."
At the tap being turned off I stopped my ramblings and held out the towel behind my back, I heard him speak softly, I could practically feel his sarcasm as he said "oh do I not look like a cherry blossom and roses guy?"
I heard him grunt up onto the counter again and turned, grateful the towel was securely around his waist. While I kept my focus on bandaging his thigh and wrapping his ankle I couldn't help my wandering eyes to his toned body littered with scars and his metal arm, it was incredible.
I should not be thinking about his body, he is probably going to kill me I shivered that thought away then looked at his arm bent at the wrong spot. I wasnt a doctor, but I had seen this done enough times to know what to do. I got tape and bandages ready before muttering "this is going to really hurt..."
I could feel him tense under me, but he nodded stiffly once, giving me the all clear to straighten his arm, cringing at the popping sound and metal arm around my throat. I held his arm in place softly and when the pained dulled he removed his hand from my throat, letting me gasp in a breath before quickly wrapping his arm and tying it in a sling.
Mentally fighting myself as to what I was going to say next but still blurting out "you need to keep off your feet or the stiches could open, and you could further damage your ankle if you try to move too much" at his silence I continued, mentally kicking myself "so have you got anywhere to go? Do you need me to drop you off anywhere?"
His eyes snapped. to mine "I'm staying here, you will fix me before I leave."
