Split String of Fate:(Killua x Reader x Kurapika)

~Getting Back Killua: Part 3~

          Gon lay flat on the floor, still unable to get up. Your anger raged but comfusion surpassed it all. 'Everything about this girl, is Canary, but why is she hurting my friends. Why does she show no emotion?' 

           "DAMN YOU!" Leorio screams as he charges at Canary.

           "STOP LEORIO!" You and Kuripika plead in unison.

           The second he comes in a one metres radius of her, Canary smacks him with a bone crushing hit using her staff. Before he can fall down, she catches him by his tie and points her staff at him. "Since it's your first time here, I will let you off with a warning. Don't cross this line." She says, then drops him onto his back. She walks calmly away from you, your confusing fueling your rage. Nothing made sense.

         You watch as the river water crashes against the small rocks and listen to all of the sounds of nature around you. You look at the vibrant coloured flowers a d various plants. However, you couldn't bring yourself to marvel at the beauty and vastness of the zoldyck estate around you. All you could do is think about Canary, or the girl who, you thought was Canary. 

         "So you knew her?" Someone asks. Pulling from your train of thought. You look up to see a concerned Kurapika. He takes a seat next to you, right on the rivers edge. You had your feet soaking in the water, but he refused to take off his shoes and do the same. 

         "Y-ya... I think so." You say. 

         "You think so?" He asks.

         "Well, she looks just like my childhood friend, same facial features, even her hair is exactly the same. Her tome of voice is the same, and the stories of her becoming an apprentice butler, line up." You explain. 

          "So what's holding you back from being sure?"

          "Never one to leave any unanswered questions are you?" Kurapika just shrugs, implying for you to get on with the explanation. You take a deep breath and look back to the rushing water, "It's just, the Canary I knew would never hurt someone so heartlessly. She would've hurt someone for a good reason, but would always feel guilty later. It's just not in her to injure others..." Silence falls between the two of you, both knowing that you were to be the one to continue, "But this girl... This girl hurt Gon and Leorio without showing a sliver of remorse! She didn't even acknowledge my existence and I don't want to think that my friend turned into such a monster." You drop your head into your chest and begin to sob. You pull you legs you of the water and hug them close. Kurapika pulls you into a tight embrass, providing you with the much needed warmth and support. He strocks his hand down your hair, trying desperately to sooth you and calm you down. You remain in his arms, a shaking ball of tears for a few minutes, during which, he never ceased trying to sooth you. When you calm dont a bit he pulls away, but lods you at arms length, "I know it's hard to accept, but people do change. For the better or for the worse." He says.

        "But I can't just accept that my friend, my first friend, turned into that!" You scream in frustration.

        "Calm down..." He coos and pulls you into another tight hug, "It has been many years though... Its possible she changed." 

       You look at him and say, "I've known you for year, but you haven't changed." 

        "Wow... I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment or an insult. In all honesty, I was hoping I grew just a little bit since we first met." He says with his killer smirk which quickly brightened your day. 

        "A compliment. You're just as kind, caring and as smart as ever." You giggle, "But te only thing that's changed is that you have a crush on me now, you still haven't grown at all." You tease.

        "Oh no, I've liked you back then too." He says boldly. 

        "W-what?!" You choke. 

        "Ya, I just didn't realize until now. But I've been in love with you ever since." 

        You smack his shoukder and lean back a bit, "But like you said... 'People change' I've changed so much, you can't still like me after all that." You whisper. 

        "Correction. I also said that they change, for the better or for the worse. In this case you've changed for the better." He says with another smirk.

         "Goshh, can you stop with your kindness, good word choice and killer smile? Or i might just fall in love with you!" You say, not realizing you said that out loud. "Damn, did I say that out loud?!" You ask blushing madly. 

         "Yes you did," he says while blushing and sending you another smile, "but anyways about Canary. You've only seen her for a bit, she might just be hiding her feelings." 

          You turn away, too embarrassed to look at Kurapika, "You think so?" 

          "That's what I believe at least." He gets up, dusts off his pants and stick a hand out to you, "Come on, let's go to the others." 

          You smile and take his hand. You both make your way to Gon and Leorio further up the river.
