~Hunter's POV (Dawn's Second Mate)~
I downed a whole glass of scotch irritated. I have just been informed, yet again, that the Peace Treaty with those filthy mutts is in order today. Not only that, but my link with my mate has strengthened. I havn't found her yet and that causes problems. I need my queen and by law it has to be my mate, although they are making an exception for me because it's taking too long to find her. I've been alive for 434 years and I havn't even heard about her.
I can feel her emotions and it's like having constant mood swings. I always dreamed about having my mate, spoiling her to death, protecting her, loving her. Those dreams are still there but sometimes I feel like she doesn't exist. That I have such hopes, for someone who isn't even here. Also to the warning a witch gave me over 100 years back.
Igniting my tobacco I brought it to my mouth and took a puff. I leaned to the right side of the chair, propping my elbow into it's arm, and rubbed a temple. Father told me it would be a wise thing to get information about my mate because he didn't want to take the throne much longer. He was getting tired of the same routine over and over, and without Mother he was pretty much a lost cause and a drunk.
A woman that looked extremely familiar and looked in her late fifties walked in. She has short, white curls and light skin. She was a witch and I could sense it. She sat down on the opposite chair and then she held up both of her hands in the air.
"I'm not a fool Hunter. If you came to harm me, you must be quite foolish." She frowned and then it hit me.
"TERRA!' I faked enthusiasm. "Long time no see, you havn't aged a bit." I grinned.
"Well, you did try to kill me last time we saw each other." She glared
"Hey! That wasn't my fault. You decided to try and kill my mother!" I hissed. Mother did die, but not because of Terra. We are still unsure on how she did die.
"Hunter, I needed to stop her. She was half witch, half vampire. You can only be one, not both. That upsets the balance and I can't have her doing that. She dug into some deep dark magic and it consumed her. She needed to die, it was for the best interest in everyone." She sighed.
Shaking my head I went straight the point on why I was here. "Terra, I need you to do me a favor. Well I've been alive for 300 years now, and I havn't found my mate. Is there any way you can track her? Find something out about her." I huffed.
"And why would I help you." She lifted a brow.
"Because it's in the best interest for your coven. I could have them killed in the blink of an eye and you know that better then anybody." I threatened.
"Fine, but I'm going to need something that has a big meaning in your life. Getting a side of your soft spot will help me find the information I need on your mate." She said.
Hesitating I looked down at my chest and tugged on the necklace that was dangling. It was a silver chain that ended in a metallic sword embroidered with ruby's. My father gave it to me when I was a young boy. He gave it to me to symbolize the fighter I had in me. I handed it over to her and she set it down and began chanting.
