"T-Takeo...? Will you ever leave us..?" asked Hanako as she looked up at her big brother with teary eyes.
Takeo blinks, and hugs her tightly. "I'll stay with you for all eternity."
Now let's see how it got to that moment...
"Today's the day, " thought Takeo as he walked to Element High, the public high school in his town. "no more private school", he smiled slightly, excited, yet anxious at the same time.
He gripped the shoulder straps of his backpack tightly as he stepped into the schoolyard. Although... it seems that he just got in at a bad time. There was some sort of duel or something going on between two wind ele-elves, one with white and one with light gray hair. Lots of other students were gathered around the fight, some cheering for one, some cheering for the other.
Takeo walked towards the entrance of the school, past the fight. He glanced at the two, but just as he passed by, the white haired boy sent the other flying- making him crash into Takeo, both of them falling to the ground.
"Oh gods I'm so sorry!" the boy apologized as he tried to stand up. He was short, a little more than 20 centimeters shorter than Takeo. Well Takeo was like 182 centimeters tall so it's expected for almost everyone his age to be shorter than him.
His brown eyes meet Takeo's violet ones, and it seemed as if time stopped... until the light gray haired boy shook his head and stood up. "S..sorry... I'm Yūki Hikaru.. uh bye-" he blurted out before walking away. The white haired boy whistled and smirked. Hikaru simply stuck out his middle finger to him and continued walking.
"I..I'm Takeo.." Takeo manages to reply before Hikaru vanished into the school. The bell rang. He stands up and follows the other students through the school's entrance, thinking about his encounter
with the short boy. He starts to blush slightly.
He walks through the halls, looking at the paper in his hands, searching for his new class. He eventually found it and knocked on the door. "H..hello? Is this class 1C..?" he stuttered out.
"Ah, you must be the new student, right? Yes yes, this is class 1C" the teacher said with a smile, waving her hand, inviting him to enter. "Please, introduce yourself"
Takeo walked forward with nervous steps. "U.. uhm... My name is Takeo and... I came here from a p..private school..." he felt so embarrassed for stuttering. He glanced around the classroom and... oh no... Hikaru was in his new class!? He tried to stop the blush that creeped onto his face when he saw him.
"Takeo? Last name, please?" the teacher asked
"O.. oh.. uhm... Kawaguchi... Kawaguchi Takeo.." he mumbled. The teacher looked at him with a surprised expression. Soft gasps were heard from the class, and people started whispering:
"He's from the Kawaguchi family!?"
"He's so tall..."
"And hot, honestly"
"I wanna be from the Kawaguchi family..."
"I heard his family has seven children"
"Why does he have so many bandages?"
"Maybe he's just clumsy"
He gulped, looking at the ground, his green bangs falling onto his eyes.
"Alright... Well please sit down. There's a free seat behind Yūki over there" the teacher pointed at Hikaru and Takeo quietly walked over there, sitting down at the empty desk.
He looked up and saw the water ele-elf girl who was sitting on the desk beside Hikaru leaning over to his, whispering something to him. Whatever she told him made him blush. She giggled and whispered one more thing before moving away. She then poked the fire ele-elf girl in front of her with her pen. The girl turned towards her and they started whispering among each other.
It was all too quiet for Takeo to make out what they were saying.
The class ended and all the students started talking together. Takeo started preparing himself for the next class before Hikaru turned around.
"Hey... Kawaguchi ri-"
"Takeo... just call me Takeo..."
"Ah.. alright.."
The conversation was kinda awkward until the water and fire ele-elf girls from before and a water ele-elf boy approached the two.
"Hiiiii, welcome to our class!" the blue haired girl smiled. The red haired girl smiled and so did the blue haired boy
"Those are my friends" Hikaru said "Yoshino Kaoru and Kenshin," he pointed at the two water ele-elves, "and Kanzaki Anya" he pointed at the fire ele-elf.
"Sooooooo you're from the Kawaguchi family, right? What's it like?" Kenshin asked, but Kaoru nudged him. "Kenshin!"
"What?! I'm just asking!"
"Don't ya think that's a little too personal?" Kaoru huffed, then turned back to Takeo "Don't mind my brother"
Ah yes, sibling arguments. Takeo knew them well, only his were a little more.. extreme.
"Well, are you getting used to being in a public school? I heard you say you came from a private school" Anya joined the conversation, her head turned towards Takeo, but her eyes closed. Takeo wondered why, but figured he should ask later.
"Yeah.. I'm getting used slowly, but I must say that it's significantly louder than the private school I'm from" Takeo admitted
"Wanna join our friend group?" Hikaru suddenly asked, which surprised Takeo and Hikaru also seemed surprised by his own words.
"I'd love to.." Takeo replied with a small, yet sweet smile. Everyone else smiled as well.
"Hey you have cool hair. I've only seen nature ele-elves with one coloured hair, but your hair is brown with green bangs! Is it dyed?" Kenshin looked at Takeo
"R.. really? Thank you..! And uh, no it's not dyed, it's just how I was born" Takeo shrugged.
The bell rang and the teacher entered the classroom, followed by other students. The class started when everyone settled down.
"Hikaru's so cute..." thought Takeo
"Takeo's so pretty..." thought Hikaru
Hikaru quickly glanced at Takeo, hoping he wouldn't notice. But he did notice, and it made him smile.
