Awaiting (Lin Fei x Yang Hui[oc])

Start from the beginning

Sir Roland rubbed his beard, thinking.

"Hm...What could be the issue? She looks relatively fine. She's been social and clever. She seems the same."

"And yet, there is something off putting. I can feel it. She's not the Lin Fei we're used to seeing."

The traveler narrowed his eyes, before a certain lich who couldn't help but to overhear, walked over, holding his cat.

"I mean, if it helps, she keeps looking at the door. It's like... she's longing for something?"

Azoth only shrugged as his cat, Dander, pawed at his helmet. He pointed at the door, and soon enough, the group was able to see her figure slightly peek out the doorway before turning back to socialize with other legends. Cassidy only hummed in response.

"Is she waiting for anyone?"

The monk shook his head. "Everyone is here."

Volkov narrowed his eyes, adjusting his glasses. His pupils turned into slits as he scanned the area again, focusing on a certain subject. He quietly hissed.

"She's leaving the house."

"Maybe you should follow her!" The Knight gave an encouraging look, nodding at Wu Shang. Knowing Roland, the monk guessed that that was his way of helping with his daughter. So, he just nodded, and slowly started following after her.

– – – –

Lin Fei took a deep breath. The wind was blowing through her hair, and the moon was shining. She looked at the doorway. No one seemed to follow her, and she was okay with it. From afar, she could see how beautiful the house was, decorated with lanterns and couplets.

"...She would've liked this." The teacher sighed to herself as she sat at the base of a tree, her back leaning on the wood as she continued to stare. A part of her knew too that the party was decorated to... her liking. She just slumped down and let the memories rush back in.

-

"And... There! All done! Anything else?"
"Oh? Done already?" She laughed. "As expected for my secretary."

The poet smiled and giggled too.

"Yes, all done. I must admit, practicing your fighting style right in front of me while talking does help."

"In what way?"

Lin Fei knew the answer, but decided to humor the other girl.

"I'll reiterate it then." Yang Hui smiled sweetly as she started to ramble. Lin Fei sighed and listened to every word, enchanted by her voice.

"...and that's why!" The secretary finished, closing her eyes, but facing the teacher with a warm smile. Her pen was still wandering in her book, and her hair swayed in the wind. Lin Fei nodded.

"Ah, I see now, thank you again."

"Never an issue! I like having these talks with you."

"I can say the same..." Lin Fei slightly muttered under her breath, slightly looking away. Yang Hui giggled, but continued.

"The rest of our group is coming later, so I'm guessing we're going to be on another 'adventure' soon?"

"Yes. You can count on that. With your brains and my brawn, we can do it together!"

"Together? Isn't it always together, since we are an unbreakable group?" The poet tilted her head, rather cutely, an enticing smile shining. Lin Fei reached out and grabbed both of her hands, nodding.

"Mhm. Together. Always together."

-

Looking back at the memories, Lin Fei couldn't help but to feel bad. She said together, but left her behind on Earth.

"Thinking about her again?"

The teacher turned to the left, and saw Wu Shang, who rested near her.

"How long have you been there?"

"Ever since you started chuckling sadly."

Lin Fei had no idea when she did that, but nodded.

"I miss her." That wasn't hard to get out of her mouth, but she knew that from the beginning. It'd been too long without her.

"How do you think she is on Earth? Does... does she still know me? Is she even there? It's been... how many years?"

The monk remained pensive. "A lot of years, probably, but you shouldn't worry. Wherever she is, she is still thinking of you, your bond has been mentioned to be strong, and if you remember her for these many years, the same can be said for her."

"She should've been here. She would've liked it here... thinking about it, I do wonder where she is."

"Hm. You know how I talked to Bödvar about the Great Wheel?"

"Yes?" The teacher thought before acquiring a question. "Is this about its stations?"

Wu Shang nodded and looked up to the Valhallan sky.

"Just like you and I, one day she will reach the next station in the Great Wheel. One day, she might even come to Valhalla."

"...Do you think so?"

"If you believe, then her path can find its way towards you one day."

Lin Fei only hummed in response. Looking out into the distance, she just thought out loud.

"One day then... I hope she knows that I'll be waiting for her here. I always will."

===================================

Hmmmm Oc x canon writing. I'm still pretty new to this, and I definitely need to work on it. As of now though, this is just a gray area. I'm not sure if I can or can't write this stuff, especially depending on the oc, but hopefully I can find out soon.

I was lucky that Yang Hui didn't need to talk at all at her request(Really, but I made her talk a little to add more character).

However, I hope that this was enjoyable.
