"Lyney, I'm aware you just wanted to help your classmate, but it is still frowned upon to help others during tests."

"I understand, Mr. Morax." The blonde spoke, placing a hand on his heart and slightly bowing his head. "I'll take whatever punishment you deem is suitable for my misconduct."

The sun's rays beamed through the half-shut classroom blinds, creating streaks of yellow on the wall opposite of the large wall of windows. Lyney stood a respectful few inches away from his teacher's traditional wooden desk, a small smile on his face as he awaited what the older man had to say. These streaks of yellow seemed to paint the classroom a gold-ish hue, the two shadows a bit distorted due to the inconsistent flow of sunlight. A soft scent of florals accompamied the gentle typing of the brunette, before good eyes meet violet ones once more.

"I'm sure you're well-aware of Y/N's foolery as well." Peeking up from his rectangular glasses to make eye contact with his student, a skeptical look graced his features.

Lyney knew who you were very well by now. Whether it was your snarky remarks towards the teachers of the classes he'd shared with you, or the comedical circumstances you always found yourself in, he always found himself stifling a chuckle at your humor.

"Never a dull moment with her." He barked out a laugh before noticing the stern look on his teacher's face and ceased his actions, coughing and reinstating his serious expression. "I suppose she can be quite a handful at times, considering the large amount of classes I share with her. I thought it would be laughable if I used a bit of... magic... and throw her own joke back at her."

"So, you're saying that you can stoop to her level when you wish to?"

Realizing his misstep, Lyney moved to refute his past words. "I consider myself a mature guy! I'd never disrupt your teachings, or anyone else's for that matter. Again, I sincerely apologize for my behavior."

Mr. Morax shook his head and sighed. "You missed the meaning. You're saying that you could possible outclass her in her... clownery?"

The blonde cleared his throat. "It's ambitious, but I suppose so. I do have quite the number of tricks up my sleeve and I believe that my abilities outdo the basic haha-funny stance Y/N has."

The brunette pushed his chair back and pressed his palms against his desk, standing up and shutting his laptop. "In that case, you only have one day of detention. I am expecting you to use whatever means you must use to keep her in line. I will notify the other teachers of classes she shares with you of this, however, with great power comes great responsibility. If the situation does not improve, then you will have to fulfill the full detention sentence. Have we reached an agreement?"

"I must admit, this deal is quite enticing..." He rested a hand on his hip and moved another to hold his chin in a pondering stance, before snapping his fingers and smiling. "Alright, I will do whatever it is in my power to halt Y/N's attempts at disrupting any lectures that I share with her. But... out of pure curiosity... is there anything else in it for me besides a shortened detention sentence?"

Morax packed his things into a messenger bag including his laptop, pulling the strap over his head. "I'll think of something. Until then, be glad you aren't getting two weeks."

Lyney nodded. "Understood. Farewell, Mr. Morax."

He watched his teacher leave the classroom and close the door behind him, sighing to himself and turning to look at your desk. "Well, Y/N..." He approached your chair and playfully tapping his finger against the wood, frowning at the strangely unhollow noise. Kneeling down and squinting at the compartment, a smirk lifted the corners of his mouth.

"You're not as mysterious as you think you are."

In his hand, a journal with your name written on it.

Reaching into your backpack and frowning at the absence of your beloved journal, you groaned and plopped onto your soft carpet floor. "It isn't here! Where the hell could it be?... Oh."

You remembered slotting it sneakily into your lower desk compartment in Morax's class. I'll just get it tomorrow.

I'm sure it'll still be there.
