Pamela flung open the door to her new dorm at Brooklyn Visions academy, looking around excitedly. Her new friend and roommate Ana followed her inside, soaking up the beauty of the simple yet modern accommodation.

"Ooh, this is niceee!" Mela exclaimed excitedly, glancing over at Ana to see her reaction.

Ana nodded. "Shidd, it better be! The room and board is damn near just as expensive as the tuition! No wonder so many students live off- campus"

"Worddd"

The two girls had just transferred to BVA following their parent's move to New York for business endeavors. Pamela (Mela) was entering her senior year and Ana was a rising junior.

Pamela and Ana quickly settled into their new dorm room, their excitement bubbling over as they began unpacking their belongings. The room had a minimalist charm, with neutral-colored walls and large windows that let in the New York City sunlight.

As they unpacked, Mela couldn't help but express her enthusiasm for the upcoming school year that awaited them at Brooklyn Visions Academy.

"I can't believe we get to finish high school in New York, this is like a dreammm!" Pamela exclaimed, arranging her clothes in the closet.

Ana smirked, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "Yesss! And just imagine all the fine niggas we're gonna see... mm with their NY accents and everything."

(a/n yes im blackity black blackkkk)

Pamela laughed. "Ou girl don't even get me started! I already looked through the basketball roster and its some fine ones on thereee"

(she just like me fr)

The two laughed and continued talking about everything they were looking forward to as they settled into their dorm and prepared for their first day of school which was in two days. A few hours later, Mela got a call from her mother.

"Olá mãe, tudo bem" Pamela answered the phone, greeting her mother in Portuguese

"Está tudo bem, minha filha, como você está?"

The two continued their conversation, seamlessly switching between English and Portuguese whenever they pleased. After catching up a bit, Mrs. Arosio recalled her reason for calling in the first place.

"Ah, meu amor, we are having dinner at Fogo de Chao with my old friend Rio Morales, she has a son your age who goes to your school! Maybe he can show you where your classes are and everything since you missed orientation"

Pamela nodded "oh, okay! I'll see you when?"

"I'll be over to pick you up in an hour. We will meet Rio at her house and I will drive us all to the restaurant. Our reservation is for 8"

"Oh! Okay mãe, I have to get ready"

"Nothing too fancy, okay minha filha? I'll see you in a bit, love you"

"Later ma, love you!"

With that, the two ended the call and Pamela made her way to her closet to choose her outfit. As she sorted through her clothes her mind wandered to Mrs. Morales and her son. Was he cute? Was he talllll? How's his personality? All these curiosities crossed her mind as she got ready.

Mela was definitely a bit of a girly girl and had a habit of dressing up for every occasion. She just adored a cute lil outfit, having her hair done, doing her make up, etc. She settled on a simple ribbed set, boots and a small shoulder bag. She did light makeup and left her hair down, which was currently silk-pressed. She snapped a quick pic in the mirror before leaving the house.
