PROMISES

Chapter 1

It's a calm night in the hotel of San Salvador, girls are already in their respective rooms having their most deserving rest, after having different kind of activities for the whole day, except for one candidate, Miss Thailand, Anntonia Porsild. She is currently standing at the balcony, facing a very serene view and feeling the cold breeze of the wind through her entire body

''Hey, what are you doing here, at this hour, Anntonia?'' A voice of a woman was heard behind the Thai woman, Anntonia who seems busy thinking on her own, quickly turned around revealing a candidate wearing a black, long and elegant dress, Miss Philippines, Michelle Dee

''Hi, I had a call with someone a few minutes ago and I chose to stay here for awhile, you know, it's more calming looking at the view when it's night'' Anntonia softly responded, Michelle then walked towards her and stands beside the Thai woman

''Why didn't you call me? I should've accompanied you'' The Filipina woman said, earning a soft giggles from the girl beside her, who's eyes busy admiring Michelle's face

''You were so tired after dinner, even though we weren't on the same table, I literally noticed how tired you were and how you badly wanted to go back in your room'' Anntonia calmly said and puts her attention back to the view she was looking earlier

''Still, you should've call or text me, Ann. You know I'll be here in an instant and it's also scary to be here alone, don't you think?'' Michelle asked the woman who seems lost in her own thoughts again ''You are not ok, tell me what happened? I am ready to listen to you'' She added

''I had a fight with Irfan again. I am tired dealing things with him, specially that I am in the middle of the competition, I can't get distracted by him''

Silence then has been formed between the 2 ladies, after Anntonia talked no one dares to talk back again; it looks like they are both mesmerize by the beauty of the view in front of them, even though it's already dark, the lights from each side of the hotel can illuminate the place

Fireworks suddenly appear where it led Ann's face to brighten up since she loves watching them: blue, yellow, white and red are the colors of the illuminations

''What a beautiful view we have here, Michelle!!'' The 27 years old woman, who is busy admiring the place and the lights at the dark sky, happily stated

''Very beautiful...'' Michelle said, but she really didn't mean that the fireworks are beautiful, because for somehow her head brought her to look at the girl standing beside her, the Filipina is busy staring the side view of Anntonia's face

As soon as the scene of the lights disappear, they both look at each other and smile, the wind is now hitting their body and faces, that it caused Anntonia's hair to go in front of her face. Michelle then went closer to her and remove the hair that's blocking her face with her right hand, slow-mo, that is what they can feel right now; it feels like only the 2 of them exist in the universe, no one else but just them

''Uhm t-thank you Michelle'' Anntonia shyly looked down and spoke

''If ever you need someone to talk with, I am here hm? Even though I am tired, stress or whatever I am feeling, always know that I am ready to listen to you'' Michelle sincerely said to the Thai woman, looking through her eyes

''Aw thank you Michelle, I do appreciate you'' Anntonia sweetly stated and did something unexpected: she slowly lay her head on Michelle's shoulder and they both put their attentions to the calming night view of El Salvador
